wonderful location~ the sofa is super cosy too~
As it's stated, it's a 6th floor walk up, but the storys are quite low so it's not as brutal as you may fear. Once Laure installs curtains, it will be one heck of a pad, being so centrally located that you are literally 100 steps from everything. The host was very accommodating with my last minute change in schedule and timing.
Location is great, very close to the corridor to the mid-level. You can walk to Lan Kwan Fong and Central as well as Sheung Wan. The drawback is the noise from bars in surrounding buildings. I only stayed for 2 nights so it didn't really bother me. Got lots of exercises walking up and down the 6 floors of stairs.
Laure was a most gracious host, and the place was perfect. Exactly what you'd want out of Central. Lively, and a great location. Thanks, Laure.
Laure is a very helpful and considerate host. Place is nice and cosy, unbeatable location right in the heart of Lan Kwai Fong. I would stay there again anytime.
Location is Laure's place is about. We haven't meet during my short stay but she was helpful as she could. Great convenient neighbourhood, best location in HK whether on business or pleasure. Place could use an upgrade but it is certainly value for money.
Our stay was overall excellent with no problems at all. The keys were handed accurately and proper instructions were sent through e-mail for both check-in and check-out, as well as additional remarks.
Now, before booking, you should know that in this unit you are paying exclusively for its convenience of LOCATION. This unit is by the escalator which eases the mobility around HK Island and it avoids you the hassle to "climb" the hill (remember HKI is so hilly and it's easy to get exhausted). You can get to the MTR in virtually no time, as it's next to Central Station and Hong Kong Station. MTR is the gateway to virtually everywhere in HK. Besides, there are a lot of excellent restaurant and even a 7-Eleven in less than 10 seconds walk. Convenience, that's what you get.
I do not have such great words for the unit condition itself. As other guests pointed out, the unit is not taken care of. Furniture is in poor condition, usually supported by duct tape. Part of the ceiling is tearing apart (the 1st day I thought it would be powder/makeup, but then we realized it was small chunks of the ceiling). The shower hose has a few holes so you have extra water flowing when you take a shower - doesn't affect the shower experience though. The toilet "cover lid" is broken, even though the 2nd lid where you sit down is okay. Not a big deal, as we went to HK to enjoy the city and come back home to sleep, not to stay indoors. However, be sure to notify the owner of any imperfections upon arrival, and be sure to take pictures, as AirBNB requires a deposit and you might need them in case of dispute.
The unit size is fairly small (ok for 2), but I am aware HK sqm pricing is outrageous. The bathroom is particularly small too - if you are tall you might have a problems to fit your legs when using the toilet. I think this is the norm in HK, so not an issue.
Laure was very accommodating and she made sure our initial requests were met. A suggestion would be to explain how to get to the unit from the airport, as it is very easy and the guests will avoid walking as much as we did with the luggage. Another suggestion is to include a couple of complimentary bottles of water. When you arrive and you are terribly exhausted, and you go up 6 floors walking with the bags, you definitely need to drink and that means going down the 6floors again, go to 7-Eleven to buy water and walk up the 6floors again.
Overall, I would rate our stay with 4 stars out of 5. We removed a star due to the unit condition. As long as you are not very picky you will enjoy your stay. I can tell you that the premium location definitely surpasses the aforesaid imperfections.
The location couldn't have been better - so close to everything which made my first trip to Hong Kong an amazing one!
The apartment could use some upkeep and is pretty small for 2 people. Although I never had the chance to meet Laure, she seemed very nice and was quite responsive. Window blinds would be a good idea and bring earplugs as street noise is loud ( due to the location and construction outside the window starts bright and early )
Laure's place is extremely well positioned, close to all the good things soho has to offer. Its literally right next to the escalator - you can't get more convenient than that! Its a bit noisy on saturday nights (around 5 in the morning) and the bathroom is tiny for a big guy like me, though this shouldn't detract too much from what is a really great place to stay, which I did so for 2 weeks. Thanks Laure!
Laure has a really nice place with a great location in Soho/Lan Kwai Fong area with lots of bars, restaurants etc just outside. You can easily sleep on the big couch, and there is also a big bed. Some furniture were perhaps not in the best condition and were easily damaged when used due to fixes with tape etc but overall really good place! Laure was also very friendly and helped out alot. Recommended!
