Very nice hosts, however the apartment was not in the best condition. There was a horrible mold problem in the first apartment. We had breathing problems and had to be moved to another apartment first thing in the AM. The second apartment was better with less mold (not highly visible on the walls). Nice location and felt secure. They were very nice and got us to the airport on our day of departure. The owners told us the mold was due to another apartment but without a doubt needs to be fixed. Other than the mold it was clean and nicely decorated.
Our stay in Residenza dei Mercanti 3 was great, because of the location - Trastevere is a great choice to stay if you want to be around bars & restaurants. You can find good aperitifs & authentic italian food. The restaurant just infront of the apartment, "La Gattabuia" - is a MUST! The food is soooo good & homemade; they elaborate their own products, such as the parmesan cheese and prices are very fair.
The apartment was very clean & Valentina left us a box of chocolates to welcome us in beautiful Rome.
My only complaint is that it smelled humid, I guess this is because it's a ground floor and the Wi-Fi never worked. We had to use the Wi-Fi in a coffee shop near by. But actually, it was not a problem....our stay was GREAT! We loved it and definitely will consider coming back! :D
Thank you, Valentina and Roberto!
A perfect apartment in the best area of Trastevere! Very helpful hosts!
