OTSUKA is a peaceful and quite neighborhood that lies in between (Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku) and (Ueno, Akihabara, Asakusa and Tokyo Station) on the JR Yamanote Line.
There are plenty of small restaurants and Japanese eateries nearby for you to explore by foot. There are a number of super markets nearby as well.
The neighborhood is friendly to our Muslim guests as there is a Mosque nearby and Halal restaurant and food shop.
It is a SUPER CONVENIENT location as you may see in the reviews.

Brian and Akiko's description of their place was spot on. We definitely thought Otsuka was a lovely place to stay at, there were plenty of cafes and restaurants down the road to choose from. The train station is really just beneath the apartment so travelling was a breeze.
e better if can have a electric kettleVery good location just 1min walk to JR station; Brian is very nice , thanks for the website he recommended which is very helpful, easy to checkin and out, Room is small with a tiny tiny bathroom, feel hard to even turn around inside
Brian is really helpful and quick in responding to our request and feedback. The portable wifi is useful. The apartment is close to train station and we heard train arriving in or leaving the station. The noise was not a problem to me and we still got good sleep and rest during our stay there. However, I was quite bothered by the very small restroom/shower space and its constantly wet floor in the restroom. Make sure you ask the host about the restroom size, photo and whether it can be kept dry, in order to have a realistic expectation.
Brian is a FANTASTIC host. the place was very clean. As noted below about the property being old, truth of the matter is, they are correct. The place is a little worn and preloved, but i had no issues with it due to the cleanliness of the place. This is a bit of an older apartment. Yes, the sink could be better, it is poorly patched. The bed and linen was extremely comfortable. heating of the air con was adequate. everything you really need is in the apartment. this apartment is about less than a minute walk from otsuka station, which made it very easy to haul luggage around.
There is a bit of noise from the train station, but it is nothing to be concerned off you sleep right through it without any issues.
There is no smoking in this building as of last month, and you cannot smoke in the apartment as there is no balcony which made it a bit inconvenient.
If you're not a smoker, then you will have no problems with this place at all. You will enjoy stating at this place!
It's very peaceful place, located near Otsuka station. It's very simple to go anywhere in Tokyo from it. In this apartment you will have everything you want, but have not TV. It doesn't matter. We have became to walk and see Tokyo sight, have fun and get new friend. Not watch TV. I recommend this apartment to everybody who travelling.
Panda Club is very close to everything and on a JR line which was brilliant as we could use our Japanese Rail Passes. The train noise didn't bother us at all. The apartment is a little bit worn which is ok but the bathroom sink had badly patched up holes and was not very clean which made me feel like the whole apartment was dirtier than it actually was. Unfortunately the heating unit was also very old and did not distribute the heat through the room very well. This meant my daughter in the top bunk was hot at night sleeping with no covers while I was very cold sleeping on the bottom bed wearing all my thermals to sleep. The water in the shower was only set to warm when we arrived but Brian's friend came to fix it for us at midnight when we first arrive which wasn't expected but I was extremely grateful. The water temperature was set at about 42c which was not hot enough when the room was so cold. If the bathroom was replaced and the airconditioner/heater was fixed - this apartment would be perfect.
Very nice place to stay. Very near from JR line, easy to move around Tokyo. And Brian is very kind and helpful person. Totally recommended!
