The Space

Please note: The following description answers most questions our guests have asked over the last two years we've been Airbnb hosts. That said, we're happy to clarify or answer questions if they are not covered below.
Also, our calendar is always up to date - if you see open dates, feel free to go ahead and book a reservation with us. Thank you!

Guest Access

The studio is on the ground floor of our home, we live upstairs. The bottom floor basement/art studio/exercise room leads out to a large backyard. Although the studio is private, and separate from our living area, you’ll have access to the following shared amenities: backyard, deck and sitting area. Washer/Dryer, exercise machine (in basement/art studio). The entrance to the home is also shared.

The Neighborhood

We live in the Glen Park neighborhood of San Francisco, the location is ideally situated for access to both downtown San Francisco and points south such as Silicon Valley. Our neighborhood has little traffic, is quiet with charming alleyways and a nice park (Glen Park) a few blocks away. We say it is like living in the suburbs but still has all the benefits of living in a city. The neighborhood is hilly (this is San Francisco after all) but very walking friendly with Glen Park, food markets, shops and restaurants all within walking distance. We often have sunny days when other parts of the city are fogged in.

Getting around

Public transportation - BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is .5 mile from our home. There is always free street parking available, and a parking sticker is NOT required (a rare thing in San Francisco).

Other Things to Note

Kitchenette amenities include: small refrigerator with freezer, large toaster over (convection and broil), hot plate, coffee pot, microwave, tea kettle, silverware, plates, bowls and cups. Although the kitchenette does not have a sink, our guests use the bathroom sink to wash dishes.

All bedding, towels, cleaning supplies and laundry detergent are included as well as an iron, ironing board and hair dryer.

We have two cats but they never access the studio. We have had other guests that were allergic to cats therefore we ensure they never access the studio so allergies are not an issue. The cats do, however, access the shared hallway to the studio, basement and back yard.

  • What a beautiful space to stay! This lovely studio was a perfect oasis for us over the past few weeks. Tyler and Shoreh were perfect hosts as well. I enjoyed chatting with Tyler in the garden about San Francisco and about travels around the world. The studio is located in the best part of Glen Park - easy access to the village and to BART, but quiet and peaceful with great views. We would definitely stay again!

  • The place is cozy and confortable. Tyler & Shoreh gave us a welcome present, really a surprise! The bathroom very well provided, with complimentary toiletries, hair dryer and good towells. The neighbourhood is a little far from downtown SF and you have to climb a few hills, but it`s safe and silent. Good internet, microwave, fridge, grill, coffee and tea maker. Recommended!

  • This bright, warm & cozy studio was in the perfect neighborhood; and available at the perfect time - which was very short notice. The garden was lovely.

  • We had great time in Tyler & Shoreh's studio! A bit smaller as it appears on the pictures, it fits especially well to couples and travelers which are simply looking for a place to collapse after a whole day going up and down through the streets of SF. The studio is quiet, cosy and clean, and provides the basic equipment for cooking a simple meal. The access to the the yard is valuable. Special mention to the bed, in which we slept very well! As a previous host wrote, Tyler & Shoreh are in the same time present and invisible, and, indeed, this coment corresponds completely to our feeling. They are available for any demands and very quick in answering, which makes their hosting professional. So thanks again Tyler & Shoreh!

  • My friends and I had the most wonderful stay at Tyler and Shoreh's charming studio. Located in a quiet residential neighbourhood on the top of a hill, this beautifully kept studio is the perfect place to unwind after a hectic day in San Francisco.

One friend in our group arrived early, and was unfortunately dropped at a wrong address by her cab driver. Shoreh was so helpful that she actually picked our friend up and brought her to the studio when she was unable to get another cab! Such hospitality and warmth definitely makes you want to come back again!

When we arrived the studio was immaculate and well stocked with toileteries, fresh towels, and a very well equipped kitchenette. There was also a bag of goodies (came in extremely handy after a 16 hour flight like ours!!) There was also a coffee-maker, hot plate, fridge and microwave.

The studio overlooks a pretty little backyard where we spent our mornings drinking coffee. We ran into Tyler and Shoreh's cats a couple of times in the basement, and although we are not really "cat people", they didn't bother us at all. There's also an elliptical in the basement for those who want to work out! (Although walking up and down San Francisco's hills should be enough of a workout!!)

The BART station is a short walk away (10-15 mins to get there (downhill); but 20 mins to get back (up a steep hill)), which we found very convenient. It's just three stations away from downtown San Francisco. Downtown SF can be rather dicey at night - full of homeless people and the like - so we were glad to get away from all that and come back to quiet and quaint Glen Park every night.

There is also a LOVELY French restaurant in the neighbourhood - thoroughly enjoyed our meal there. Dine early if you want to eat anywhere in this neighbourhood though, as most restaurants here take their last order around 9 pm.

On the whole, this sweet little studio made our 4 day stay in San Francisco all the more memorable and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing stay in this beautiful city!

  • It was great pleasure to stay at Tyler and Shoreh's house. Studio was cozy, simple and clean. House location was also very good to get to downtown using Bart. Glen Park was a beautiful neighborhood with great view. I really enjoyed the restaurants near the house which Tyler & Shoreh recommended for the guests. I wish I could have another chance to stay here again. I'd like to thank Tyler and Shoreh's warm welcoming and kindness. :)

  • We had a great stay at Tyler and Shoreh's studio! Tyler and Shoreh are such nice and friendly hosts! They are always available if you need something. It was very comfortable and was equipped with everything we needed or could have needed. We enjoyed the wonderful patio for breakfast. The studio is perfect for sightseeing as you can park your car for free at the street and go to the city by train in about 15 minutes. Thanks Tyler and Shoreh!
