The Space

Modern 2 bedroom apartment in a beloved, friendly neighborhood. Our comfortable home is nestled in the trees directly above all the best of what makes Portland everyone's favorite little city!

1,000 square feet of clean, spacious living in a beloved Portland neighborhood. Our home is in a secured access apartment building on SE Belmont and 34th. Between Hawthorne and Burnside. Great restaurants and bars steps from our front door not to mention what you'll find within a 6 block radius. Two of the city's best parks - Laurelhurst and Mt. Tabor - are in the neighborhood too. Access to all car share programs and bus lines within two blocks.

Our apartment is on the fourth floor and has large windows keeping it bright no matter how gloomy the day may be. One bedroom has a queen bed, the other is equipped with a twin. Open kitchen and living room. Large bathroom with a bathtub. Our heat is electric and there is a heater in every room. The building has a coin op laundry room. Ample, free street parking and garage spaces as available.

Our home is our sanctuary! We know it will be a place YOU will love to come home to during your stay in Portland!

Everything in our home is available to our guests, except items stored in the bedroom closets and bathroom drawers.

Please let us know if you want space cleared out in the front hall closet to hang your things.

We are typically out of town when guests stay at our home. This means that we don't have much, if any, in-person contact with our guests. I am however available via phone, text, and email at all times. I am more than happy to answers questions before and during your stay!

The best way to get to our home from the airport is a cab. The cost of a cab will run you about $30. Otherwise, you can take the MAX light rail from the airport to a transit center nearby and take two busses to get here.

A bus running into downtown stops just around the corner from here.

Car share cars -- Car2Go and Zipcar -- are located on every block within a 3 mile radius. I recommend Car2Go, as you can use it for one-way travel rather than the more expensive and time limiting Zipcar option.

Bike shops are everywhere! Bike Commuter is an excellent and nearby place to rent a bike.

  • My friends and I had a fantastic time at Catherine's place in Portland. The apartment itself is spacious, clean, and well-furnished. It is located in a great neighborhood: not in downtown, but close to lots of great coffee spots, restaurants, and bars. The area felt safe and comfortable--we felt at home in the area, and were sad to leave!

  • We had a wonderful time staying in Catherine's apartment with our toddler. The apartment was incredibly clean and quiet and Catherine had wonderful suggestions for places to eat and see in the area. The location was very convenient for sightseeing (Oregon Zoo, OMSI) and there were several good restaurants and parks within walking distance.

  • Right in the heart of the Belmont Neighborhood, this place is conveniently located less than a block from Stumptown Coffee, Side Street Tavern and Zupan's Grocery. We stayed here with our two kids (3.5yrs and 11mos.) and found it to be very welcoming, clean and cozy. The host was incredibly accommodating and responsive. Highly recommend!

  • WONDERFUL location. I know all the other reviews said this as well, but until I arrived I didn't quite understand how amazing the location is. Amoung our near-by favorites were Laurelhurst Park, Stumptown, and Dick's Kitchen.

My 11-month old loved the toys and books. The host was very responsive and provided a travel-crib for us.

The place is has nice furnishings and decorations and was SPOTLESS. Beds and bedding were comfortable. Plenty of towels and other linens provided.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in Portland! Catherine's apartment IS the perfect location in a great neighbourhood. We strolled one block to breakfast at Cricket, half a block to Stumptown Coffee Roasters and took the bus #15 direct to downtown. The apartment itself is huge with plenty of room for ourselves and our active 3 year old to play with the games provided. We found free street parking for the whole weekend and visited the local market for supplies. We absolutely recommend this place and hope to visit again some time. No complaints!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The apartment is bright and airy, with a great view of downtown Portland. The living and sleeping areas are comfortable and stocked with everything you might need during your stay, from kitchen supplies to an extra tube of toothpaste. Our six-month-old daughter slept happily in the child's bedroom, which was very quiet, while we enjoyed the comfy queen-sized bed and warm duvet in the master bedroom.

The location can't be beat! A gourmet grocery store is just downstairs, and there are dozens of great restaurants and cafes nearby (including Stumptown and the Tao of Tea, two Portland institutions), some literally within sight of the building and others just a few blocks away on Hawthorne. Laurelhurst Park and two four major bus lines are also steps away.

We would stay here again without hesitation.

  • Catherine's spot was in a great location and was clean and cozy. The view was great!

  • The apartment is exactly as described - open, bright, large and very clean. Great view, amazing location. I stayed with my husband and 5 month old for ten days. We had booked another location that didn't work out that we were suppose to stay at for a month. We ended up staying at several places over the month instead. Catherine's place was my favorite of all of them. Great experience and nothing but recommendations.

  • Catherine was an excellent host! Communication was quick and easy. Her apartment was nicely decorated, with a very tranquil and cozy vibe. I immediately felt relaxed upon walking in the door. The queen size bed was super comfortable and the sheets were dreamily soft. So much so that I had to look at the label in the hopes that I could purchase my own. She left a list of helpful tips about the building/apartment and was clear about expectations in a way that wasn't at all off putting our unwelcoming. Great WiFi, great neighborhood, great host!

  • Convenient and fun location. Comfortable apartment. My wife and I stayed at Catherine's with our 2 year old daughter and it's hard to imagine having a better home base for our trip for the price.
