Loved the house. Myself and a group of friend stayed here for MLK weekend. The house is big and spacious. It's close to 2 ski resorts, gas station, super market and beer distributor. There was plenty of room for everyone and Sara was a great host. She always responded to my emails promptly. great house to rent.
We were a group of 12 girls staying at the house over a weekend! Albrightsville is definitely a remote location - so it's perfect if you're trying to get far away from the hustle and bustle and need a place to relax.
The house is really cute and cozy and quite comfortable. I would say 10 people fit there very comfortably - more people makes it a bit cramped. There are only 2.5 bathrooms, so that was one of the causes of congestion!
We were told that only 6 cars can fit in the driveway, so we arranged for carpools, but upon reaching there we saw the driveway could have easily fit 8 (especially small cars).
Sara was pretty responsive through messaging on AirBnB. She mailed the key to us and responded while we were there and had questions. We were told that there would be enough towels for at least 10 people, but only found 6 in the house (so you may want to bring your own!).
All in all, we recommend it!
Great house, accommodating host, and perfect location. We were 14 miles from Jack Frost. We had a wonderful time and had all the necessities to cook our meals, including a propane grill. We spent 90% of our time in the house (for those who didn't ski) due to all the snow and were very comfortable. I would recommend this house to any group looking for a relaxing, cozy retreat.
First, prior to my booking, I got quick responses for questions I had about the home from Sara.
After my booking, I sent messages to Sara via text and through airbnb and had no response.
Closer to my trip date, I sent a text to Sara and she responded. She had another person added into the text messages.
The day of the trip: Due to most of us working, we didn't get up to the house until 9:30-10:00 P.M. Few of our friends arrived first and told us that there was no where for us to park because there was over a foot of snow in the driveway. I thought my friend was exaggerating, how could you not be able to park in a driveway..
I got to the house and LITERALLY there was over a foot of snow from the road where the house is on all the way to the house. I called Sara probably about a good twenty times along with the other number and neither picked up. I called airbnb and the idiot I spoke with on the phone didn't know what to do either. All he said was he will try to get in contact with the owners. A guy finally called me back (the unknown number that the owner had included in the message) and I spent atleast a good 20 minutes arguing with him on the phone. He told me to shovel the snow.. there was one dingy shovel in the house with over a foot of snow. From the road to the house is about at least 30 feet of walking distance. Then his suggestion was to boil hot water and pour it on the snow and melt it. His other suggestion was to wake up the next morning and ask the neighbors for help.
My friends and I all took turns and spent about three hours outside shoveling as much as we could to fit four cars. We basically all parked by the main road with 3/4 of the cars pulled in a bit. Oh! Not to mention our cars got stuck in the snow so we spent a good 30 minutes to an hour trying to push it out as well.
Then the next day they sent me a text and said they would reimburse us (phone number hidden) when the house was technically $776 for the weekend. That's an insult. We stayed there for two nights and three days and the guy said he would "try" to get someone to come plow the snow - well he didn't.
If you have issues at the house, don't expect to be able to get in touch with the owners.
The house itself was beautiful and cozy inside but definitely not worth the money and time you'll be spending trying to take care of things that should've been taken care of by the hosts. Don't even think about relying on Airbnb to help you either. They're completely useless.
I am very sorry that when you arrived at 10pm on a Friday night we couldn't get to you from NYC to shovel the snow that fell earlier that day. I apologize that you had to do it yourself and that our shovel is not state of the art. The weather this year has been a bit nuts. I'm glad you had a pleasant stay and found the house beautiful and cozy.
Great place with a gracious hostess. I will defiantly be recommending this house to our friends and family!
