Two park-view double rooms are available in this upper floor apartment, on Mountjoy Square in Dublin city centre. This is a top floor apartment (no elevator) which occupies a whole floor in a Georgian House, built in 1795. With amazing front and back views of the wider Dublin city and county all the way to the Wicklow Mountains.
I LIVE IN THE APARTMENT so am available to meet your needs and welcome you to Dublin. This is a safe and gay-friendly space. Families are very welcome, as are family pets.
The apartment is on Mountjoy Square, which dates from the Georgian era between 1780 and 1800. This red-bricked house is one of the few remaining on this side of the city with original features from the first occupants.
This apartment in particular has the best views of the Square and Park. Decorated in a modern style with an artistic flourish to reflect my interest in the arts and culture while enhancing original features such as sash windows. In the hallway to the building examples can be seen of a Georgian stairway, mirroring and chandelier lighting. Just on the doorstep is Mountjoy Square Park which is open to the public and is an oasis of green in the city centre.
About the apartment:
This apartment has two large double bedrooms available to rent, a large living room, a separate kitchen with a balcony and one shared bathroom. Each bedroom has one double bed and a single pull out chair bed. We only allow two people in each room because there is only one bathroom and more than two people per room is too much pressure on the bathroom. There is no charge for children under five years of age. There will be a small extra fee for cleaning if pets come to stay.
We have a travel cot and baby chair if you wish to book them.
For groups larger than 2 we can offer a special rate on renting both rooms.

Great trip. Martin was very nice and helpful. A really goof guy.
Martin is a very hospital host in almost every way when I live in the lovely room.
Martin is great! His place was great and the location was EXCELLENT! He was very friendly and easy to communicate with. Make sure to ask about what to do if the hot water does not work since its an easy fix!
It was nice experience. Martin is a great person who told a lot about the city when we just came.
About the living conditions: in the flat are three rooms with one common room for all guests. We lived in one room, in other was Martin and some guests came also time to time. The flat locates close to center, and just one minus was a big problem - there was really cold. Because we were at January the cold was so strong and it was hard to be in (website hidden). Internet is limited - you can't download music and films, but for us it wasn't very important - we were at the vacation and tried to walk as much as we can to see the beauty of Dublin.
My son and I traveled to Dublin in December 2013 and stayed at Lorna Kavanaugh's apartment for 8 days. It was a lovely apartment, spacious and airy, in a beautiful Georgian mansion on Mountjoy Square, just a few blocks from O'Connell Avenue, the heart of Dublin. Many places of interest were within walking distance of the apartment and public transit was available nearby, including Aerocoach (airport transit). We walked to almost every location we wanted to explore! Martin, our host was a delightful young man, friendly and helpful with information on what we should see and where we should go to eat. We followed his advice and enjoyed all of the places he recommended. The apartment is very clean and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Dublin, desiring to live in a central location.
Appartement parfait pour partir à la découverte de Dublin. Idéalement situé à proximité du centre ville et chambre spacieuse et calme. On s'y sent comme à la maison. Bon séjour!!
Lorna's apartment is great, beautiful building, amazing view to the park, great location just off the center but very close to everything. We really enjoyed it there. The room was very clean and big, had a great big kitchen with a table to have breakfast on. The smallest possible issue is the water pressure which is a bit low - but you can get past that really easy given all the other things. I would definitely stay there again. Best wishes to Martin also who let us in and was super nice to us.
This is a lovely spot! Walkable during the day and not a bad cab fare (7-9 euros) from the city center. The bed is comfortable and the space is great. The view from the kitchen's balcony is wonderful, as well.
It was a bit tricky to be an international traveler and set up a key exchange since Lorna and Martin both weren't home when I arrived. Leading up to my stay, Ann, a neighbor, was very receptive and kind via email. If your mobile isn't on normal data plans (mine wasn't - international rates are pricy) and you can't call from wifi, it's hard to set up a key exchange. Luckily the Irish are wonderful and my taxi driver called and texted Ann, who let me in right away, a bit earlier than my 2pm checkin.
One other thing: I think it was an off day, but the apartment wasn't clean when I arrived so that was a bit disappointing. By 3 pm, the cleaning person arrived - but only changed my bedsheets. I left the apartment for the night and came back and everything was in order after that, though.
Overall it was a nice place to stop back at while going about your plans in wonderful Ireland!
The flat is very spacious and cozy. Excellent location and very friendly hosts. If you would like to stay in beautiful house minutes away from city main tourists attractions, I would definitely recommend to stay here. Thanks a lot!
The apartment is lovely and modern. The bedroom looks like it's had special attention from an interior designer. The balcony off the kitchen is nice and open, with a nice high-up view of the city.
Martin (Lorna's friend) is hosting at the moment and he's so friendly. Not only did he answer all our touristy style questions but was also able to produce a huge map and give us ideas on where to go and how far it was.
Location location location! We don't even know how public transport works in Dublin because everything was within walking distance. We couldn't believe how central this place is considering the super reasonable price. We were going to watch a game at Croke Park and had hardly left the apartment before we arrived at the stadium. But this doesn't mean it's noisy - it was very peaceful and has a beautiful view over a park. Besides Croke Park we walked to Trinity College, the Temple Bar area, and Guiness Storehouse (a bit further but still very walkable).
The building is very secure and although it's on the top floor, we didn't mind the stairs at all - felt like hardly any because the building is so pretty inside, but it wouldn't suit someone who can't walk up stairs.
We'd say the shower pressure needs some attention (always the option of a bath instead) but everything else in the bathroom (just like the rest of the apartment) is of a high standard.
Would definitely recommend this place - great location, great feel, great value.
