From , I lived and worked in Cozumel, coming back to the states on occasion to visit family and friends. I met my husband on one of the trips back to the states. We're both water lovers and after we married and had a son, we decided to buy a home on Lake Lanier in GA which is where we currently live. I've been with the same internet marketing company since 2002 and am Director of Operations. I telecommute 100% so this allows us to visit the island a couple times a year.
When I was living in Cozumel, I fell in love with not only the beautiful island but the value that the locals placed in enjoying each day with family and friends. Years ago...on the main street, I would watch locals close their stores, losing business as tourists passed by, and walk across the street to sit on the wall and watch the sunset. In 1999, I saved enough money while on the island, to buy the lot that the house is now built on. At the time, there were hardly any homes in the area and no street lights. In 2009, with the economy faltering and affecting my husband's business, we decided it was time to finish the Cozumel House. We packed up and took our son for 4 months to the island while we did an 'extreme makeover'! It was truly a leap of faith and it's wonderful to see how the area has developed into streets of exclusive homes along with a beautiful park and church. I hope the island moves you as it continues to move me every time I visit. Mi casa es su casa. Enjoy!
