Campo de Casitas-Best Glamping

Cabin - Private room · McFarlane Ave, Sebastopol, CA 95472, United States

Stay in our delightful casita where nature abounds and the town is just a walk away.

The Space

This is a very unusual, magical situation for the adventurous individual. Glamping or glamorous camping is the latest idea in travel. We call it a deconstructed house with a 1/2 acre arboretum in the middle. Casita Dos has a Murphy bed and when it is up there is room for exercising or a desk for writing, eating, etc. The room is beautifully decorated in the Arts and Crafts style. There's a small porch and your own outdoor area with a table and Bar-B-Q. It rents for $80 per night.
We will share a compost toilet and an outdoor shower with a clawfoot tub.
The outdoor kitchen, also shared, is fully equipped. Because we love to cook you'll likely find everything you need.
This really is a magical fairy dwelling, private but walking distance to restaurants, live professional theatre, movies, etc.
Campo de Casitas, in the city limits of Sebastopol, is located in Sonoma County Wine Country. The diversity here is amazing ranging from Ocean, 20 minutes away, Russan River, 40 minutes, Redwoods at Armstrong Woods(40 minutes) and the Laguna de Santa Rosa, northern California's largest fresh water wetland on the Pacific Flyway (within walking distance). It is a hiker and biker's dream county.
The culinary experiences are varied as well. Organic farms and cheese makers abound. Top notch, world famous restaurants are nearby and San Francisco and the East Bay are only an hour car's drive away.

Guest Access

Our beautiful garden and property, the outdoor, fully equipped kitchen, bikes, kayak, computer.

Interaction with Guests

Only as often as they wish.
Of course, upon arrival, we make sure their needs are met. We are available almost always to answer any questions.

The Neighborhood

We can walk to restaurants, movie and live theatre. We can bike to trails without getting in a car. Yet we are in the middle of a beautiful private garden.
Our neighbors are amazing and in October we close our street for a Festa Italiano!

Getting around

There is a town jitney bus nearby. Buses to San Francisco and the Bay Area are available. We'd be happy to drive you to the bus stops

Other Things to Note

We call this Glamping- glamorous camping. While you are sleeping in a lovely casita, the shower is outside and there is a short walk to the bathroom.

  • I had an absolutely wonderful stay with Glenn and Franny. It was glamping at its finest. It takes a little adjustment to using a compost toilet for the first time, but an outdoor shower cannot be beat. The bed was really comfortable the room was cozy and The property absolutely wonderful. I look forward to staying with them again if I'm ever back in Sevastopol.

  • Franny and Glenn were fantastic hosts. They were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Their casita was the perfect little getaway spot for me and my two friends for the weekend. We loved the outdoor shower, kitchen and having a campfire in the backyard. The casita was very comfortable and charming. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

  • We needed to find a furnished short-term rental, a place to land, upon returning to Sonoma County. We'd spent 15 months in Alberta Canada and most recently 4plus months in Quiche Guatemala and had rented our house out. The tenant would be there for 2 more months. We discovered Franny and Glenn, their home, and the amazing nature almost too good to be true. They greeted us, showed us the ins and outs of this magical place before they took a trip of their own. Although they were far away, they remained easy to contact. For example, we changed our departure date and they quickly responded. Moreover, they followed up to see how we were doing in their abode. When we asked if we could have our daughter's 2nd birthday they immediately said yes. And that's another wonderful thing about this place- SUPER KID FRIENDLY. Trees to climb, swings and a club house. Oh, and the family who also live on the property are wonderful. They keep a low profile but are ALWAYS available to help with any questions. Overall, a blessed place to land and support our transition back into Sonoma County. This Saturday we move out and -like our friends have ALL said- we're going to miss this place!
