It wasn't perfectly clean but the studio is great, good location. I will definitely come back.
We were not informed by Salah of his change of phone number. We tried to call him from the train station when we arrived in Paris and we also asked a local shopkeeper to use his own phone to call. The number was bad. We took the Metro to the apartment building and had a resident of the building, who happened to be returning home at the time, to try calling the number we had. No luck. We ended up staying at a hotel a couple of blocks away and in the morning Salah's mother let us in to the apartment. The apartment is small, especially the kitchen, but it was great for a short stay. The internet worked well but we could not get the tv to work. It is in a good neighborhood and close to public transportation. The elevator in the building is the smallest one I have ever seen, and good luck trying to find light switches in the hallways.
We tried to contact the host multiple times before the trip but were never able to get a hold of him. I sent an e-mail to his personal address, left a text message, and also sent an e-mail on the actual Airbnb site, but never got a reply. The day of the booking I did get a phone call from an unknown international number, but did not answer it. I specifically indicated that I was travelling without international telephone call coverage and would not be answering phone calls, and that e-mail or text was the only way to reach me. Regardless, we did not stay with this host, and ended up finding two wonderful couchsurfers who took us in at the last minute instead.
Arrived late afternoon as I informed Saleh several times before. His sister met us and showed us up.The tiny lift took one person and one suitcase at a time.We were surprised to find many of Saleh's books and clothes in the room along with food in the kitchen cupboards of indeterminate age and origin. The cleaning was not completely done.Dust on lower shelves was not pleasing however the bathroom was clean and there was good hot water for a shower.there were only two towels supplied one very small.not enough for 2 adults.A washing machine which worked was very
useful to us.
There were only two mugs in the kitchen, one unusable due to chip out of the rim.emailed S about this and arranged for additional one but S forgot this when she bought towels 2days before we left.
Generally happy at the price but a few small changes are needed.e.g. instructions on how to use theTV and directions to the local supermarket
This is an old flat which reminded us of a student (website hidden) end of our 5 day stay we had adjusted.Cooking was impossible as there is little bench space but microwave was an (email hidden)e position is great for the metro and it is in a quiet area.
This studio apartment is great as a base for visiting Paris, its easy to find and is a short walk from Ternes metro stop (which is on line 2). We walked most places though as liked to take in all the architecture etc. The Arc de Triomphe is at the top of the Avenue de Wagram and the Eiffle Tower a short walk from there so super close to the main attractions, also the Champs Elysee is parrell to Avenue de Wagram soif you want shop its really close by!
There are lots of restaurants and cafes locally so no need to metro it anywhere to eat out, also there is a small supermarket just one road away and a luxury pattisserie next door to that which you should definitely go to if you stay here.
The apartment itself is perfect for a couple, my partner & I stayed for a week and found it to be clean and spacious considering other studio apartments iv stayed in the past. We never cooked in the apartment but there is a small hob & microwave if you wanted to cook.
Overall i think it is great value for money to stay here considering how close it is to everything and what a nice area its in.
Great place, good communication, everything great! Recommended! (June 2013)
This apartment is in a great location. Plenty of room. Shops and cafes close by. Easy to get to metro stations. I would stay here again.
Salah was a very good host. There were no problems at all. He was waiting outside the building for us, knowing that we didn't have a phone and so no means to communicate with him upon arrival. The apartment was clean, in a safe neighborhood (and the building itself has 2 security code doors). There was a grocery store and metro station (Wagram, line M3) very close by (<5 min walk). The place is a little more than an hour by metro from CDG airport and 30 min from Gare Lyon. It is less than a mile away from Arc de Triomphe.
The apartment had a kitchen and washer (with laundry supplies) and enough space for 4 people to sleep (the couch is a futon). I already miss his place and would definitely visit again!
Salah was a very thoughtful host. Accommodation was clean bright and very comfortable. It was great to be so close to the Metro and walking distance to the 'Arc de Triomphe'. Supermarket was only 200m away. Very affordable accomodation in a great spot.
