I have stayed in the apartments for short time (2 nights and a day only) with my family (3 adults and a child of 9 years old). The hosts were there during my stay, living just next door in a bigger house on the same grounds. They were very friendly and helpful, communication wasn't an issue.
The apartments were as I had expected. I didn't expect too much and I think the pictures are quite correct: WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). Yes, they're not of premium class, quite small and a little bit worn out, but in my opinion they're quite cosy, especially when you're sitting with your family in front of the small fireplace burning at night. And the price was very good too, everything of better quality isn't cheap in summertime in Jurmala.
Overall, I'm completely satisfied with my experience and would definitely stay there again.
So its a story...
The apartments looking is very attractive in internet but in reality its very different with negative mean.
First of all advantages: its have a nice place -very close to sea, railway and public transportation, product shops also in few steps away, the building in very good from outside and have gorgeous big garden with apple trees.
Now the other side of the medal...
We has perfect communication with host and expecting to same response due our stay in apartment but...
We arrived to Jurmala after week in Trakaj and long day in drive. We find the door is closed and no one waiting for us.After few expensive calls (roaming)host answer me that he leaved the key to other renter in neighbor (website hidden) additional shes informed us that she traveling also and so any further communication can be by telephone or email. The other renter live want on place but live the door opened with a key (website hidden) we enter inside and were completely shocked from terrible smell inside the flat in additional its was lot of fly inside..We find that smell come from freezer.I called the host again and asked to send cleaner (email hidden)y around 10 p.m friends of host arrived and try to clean as possible...
Because we traveling with two children's we cant allow to my self to search any alternative accommodation in this later (website hidden) the first impression was very bad.Two days later we find that not hot water in shower and again mails and tel.calls...(than our neighbor find the right switch and fixed the problem.
The next day we decide to use washing machine that was defined as amenity and surprise :( the machine get the water and and washing powder wet the thing and stopped to work...-we obligated to finish the laundry by hand.Calling to host -promise to send technician and ...nothing happened.
Important to indicate ,we have to rent apartments like this each year for last 7 years at least(Vein, Germany , London ,Venice) .We always choose the simple and cozy flat with all requires amenities(kitchen) in order to decrease expenses for (website hidden) all cases till now we received apartments that answer to our requirements and were suitable for price defined.
It first time for 18 year that we traveling on post-soviet territory and we expected to receive appropriate value for money paid.(not 5 * hotel but at least clean rooms and all equipment properly working)
Unfortunately its not happen , we very disappointed .
Even sofas inside is "very old" and cause to pain to my back.
In the bottom line the apartments was "service-less" at all.
We have lucky with weather and make effort to be lot of time out of home. The apartment is very small , we have a breakfasts outside in beautiful garden.
In my point of view the apartment is uncared and not suitable for families with children for long time rent .Its a more close to "hostel level" and can be good short weekends.
