The Space

The apt is walking distance to Venice Beach and Main St, near Abbott Kinney and the Santa Monica Pier. There is a queen bed in the main room and a loft with a twin bed.
There are French doors off the living room into the garden and a skylight in the Ikea kitchen plus ample track lighting. There are hardwood floors throughout and FIOS wireless internet.
The home is two blocks from Whole Foods and one block to Groundworks coffee. There are several new restaurants a half block away. Its very efficiently laid out with lots of light and air. 4 day minimum stay. 75 cleaning fee.Pay laundry on the side of the house.
If you care to ride bikes on the boardwalk, to the Santa Monica pier or to Abbot Kinney, I have two regular bikes. Its a wonderful way to see things and a great way to get around without having to worry about getting parking tickets! Enjoy your stay wherever you go!
There is plentiful street parking just steps from the unit but watch out on Mondays and Tuesdays between 8 and 10 am because of street cleaning.
I even have a few wetsuits that you can borrow and bodysurfing fins.
Public transportation is easy to catch on Lincoln or Main street. It is a terrific place to stay and very convenient to shops and tourist attractions. The weather is usually quite nice.
There is a little deck outside where people seem to love to (email hidden)is location is near several yoga studios, the Penmar golf course which is a city course,Santa Monica Airport, Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica College, Gratitude Cafe.

I'm around a fair amount so you can usually find me if you need anything.

The Neighborhood

The beach is my favorite thing. I love to ride the bike down there. It is safest on the bike path. The ocean was great yesterday. the waves were a little large so I just swam around in the wash.

Getting around

The bus is about 3 blocks away on either Lincoln or Main street. It is possible to take public transit almost anyplace.

Other Things to Note

There are a few universities nearby like Loyola Marymount and UCLA.

  • This cute little one-room space with sleeping loft above is cozy, attractive, well-appointed, and very clean. My husband, our 24-year old daughter, and I had a lovely stay. There is indeed construction next door, but we were out all day, and it is perfectly peaceful and quiet at night. The deck is wonderful. The neighborhood is fantastic. We enjoyed walking to Venice Ale House, Rose Cafe, Flake, and Groundworks, all on Rose Ave., for everything from morning coffee and croissants, to dinner and drinks. And of course the Venice Beach and boardwalk are not to be missed, and also within walking distance. We were out and about most of the time, but saw Alice almost every day and knew she was nearby and available. Thank you, Alice, for helping to make our vacation one of the best!

  • This place was conveniently located to several great restaurants...right on the corner!!! It was constantly hopping in the area. You were close to the beach and could walk forever. We rarely left the neighborhood.

  • Alice was the absolute perfect host from beginning to end. Her loft is a little piece of heaven in a fantastic neighbourhood. Highly recommended!

  • Alice was an awesome host and the place was great. Quit and peaceful but still a great location, not far from beach, Whole foods, great restaurants and Abbot Kinney. We will definitely come back!

  • Perfect location in Venice/LA! Alice, thank you very much for the friendly support at any time! We love to come back!

  • Alice's little loft studio, located in the bustling heart of Venice, is a little slice of heaven on earth. The bungalow-style accommodations are nestled in the back of a gated, private residence. A quiet walk through a charming garden, past a friendly black and white house cat, and around a cobblestone path leads you directly to your own little house. The space is small, but if equipped with everything you'll need to stay comfy: a full kitchen, two queen-sized beds (one is a loft which we never used), a charming bathroom with a roomy shower that blasts super hot water (perfect after a sweaty day on the beach). Popular shops and cafes, like Flake and Superba, are located a stone throws away. Hop on one of Alice's free bicycles and take a three minute bike ride to the coolest area in all of Los Angeles, Abbot Kinney, for the best of the best in shopping, eating and entertainment. Two Zipcars are conveniently located just across the street in the parking garage. Alice was kind enough to allow our little dog to accompany us on the trip, and he loved the little outdoor patio attached to the property. Alice was a warm and inviting host and I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

  • My friend and I loved Alice's loft so much the first time we stayed there last year that we came back again. The location is great with plenty within walking distance. Parking was never hard to find. The wifi is fast, which probably doesn't matter much to a lot of people visiting LA but as a web developer, it was so great. We'd definitely stay here again.

  • Our stay at Alice's house was great! We got there pretty late at night and Alice was nice enough to leave the lights on for us when we got in. It was a very nice welcome.
We never met Alice in person but she always answered our questions quickly and was an awesome host.
The location of the house was great as well. Only about a 10 minute walk to the beach and super close to Santa Monica too.
We would most definitely stay again!

  • Me, my wife and our two small daughters were hosted by Alice during the LA Marathon early March. We really enjoyed our stay and Alice was a wonderful host and took care of everything meticulously right from the start. The cottage has superior location, it is very cozy, clean and most importantly very quiet. We will definitely come again in the future when we visit Los Angeles :-D

    Thank you Alice.

    Best Regards,
    Aki

  • Wonderful! Just perfect for our company of three persons. It's located halfway between Lincoln and the coast, so a few minutes walking to the beach in one direction and the same to Whole Foods on Lincoln & Rose the other way. All you need is there, including fast internet and a laundromat (for which Alice will give you a handful of coins!). Parking on Rennie ave is no problem, but there are also bikes and the Blue Bus stop is within walking distance. Alice is a very friendly person and check-in, check-out could not be easier. To make this review as 'objective' as possible I also have been looking for some downsides, but really could not think of any. Fully recommended.

About
I also love ballroom dancing and in the summer, here in Venice, I like to bodysurf. I have extra wetsuits and flippers if you want to go along. If I can help make your stay more fun-just let me know and I will try my best. So far everyone has loved the property and its location is excellent.
