This apartment is the perfect find - first world conveniences in a great neighborhood, so close to the Plaza. The neighborhood has plenty of cafes, restaurants, art galleries and shops to browse. You will find all the amenities for tourists in this very safe neighborhood.
The city is surrounded by a number of ruins, the most impressive being Sacsayhuaman. The center of Cuzco is small enough to walk around.
The Cuzco area has some extremely good international food with tasty options for all budgets.
Location was amazing, Alicia was super helpful, and the apartment was clean. In typical Cusco fashion, the water went out at times (high * hotels take water priority), but overall it was a very pleasant stay. Neighbor noise was a bit high, both morning and night, but not a deal breaker.
We had a very pleasant stay in Alicia's apartment in a great location in Cusco! The place is nicely furnished as it appears in photos and well equipped - even with a washing machine/dryer in the bathroom. The bed was one of the most comfortable we've stayed in while traveling; and the internet connect the best we've had in South America! Alicia was responsive to our questions and was very helpful in giving us good directions to her apartment on a small side street.
While you can hear people speaking in the hostel next door and occasional music next door, I didn't find it particularly loud or bothersome as others had mentioned. Though as stated in previous reviews, the shower only really offers lukewarm water and the water flow will go out for a few hours at a time - but we hear you'll find this throughout Cusco.
Our only real complaint is that the first floor gets pretty cold during winter and the space heater doesn't do much to fix this. But when running upstairs, the heater keeps the bedroom warm and toasty! If you're going to be out of the house for most of the day, this probably won't bother you, but we work over the internet while traveling and needed to use the living space frequently.
The hostess Alicia was really sweet and pleasant to talk to. She had a nice apartment in a very convenient location to the historical area and shopping. There are great restaurants close by, especially The Green Point-a vegetarian eatery that was super yummy. We really liked having a washer/dryer in the apartment too. We would stay there again.
Alicia is a wonderful host. We arrived very early in the morning (5am) but she was at the apartment to great us and allow us to check in. Her apartment is comfortable and well located. One major problem we had was that we lost all water service during the night we stayed there (We recognize however that this is not her fault). We would stay again. Thank you!
Nice clean apartment near Plaza de Armas. Good Restaurants around. No constant hot water in the shower though.
Alicia is the best. Hands down. I reserved her place very last minute as my friend was ill. Not only did she reply quickly and let us come over right away, but she even walked us to the pharmacy and showed us what to get to help my friend get better. Ever more, she showed us where good vegetarian restraunts were and other yummy places to eat. She even took the time to mark down on a map everywhere we might like.
Her apartment is indeed beautiful, comfortable, and very clean. The shower gets hot. There are fresh linens and towels. She keeps tea and other things in the cabinet for guests. And it's SO close to San Blas and the plaza. 5 minute walk if that.
Stay here and you will be glad you did.
