We can't adequately describe how romantic & carefree it feels to step aboard our sail boat. The perfect stay begins by treating yourselves to dinner at the marina's seafood restaurant, then snuggle up together on deck to watch the sunset turn the sky pink & purple. The marina atmosphere is simply magical & you'll love rocking with the gentle sway of calm waters. Come enjoy a weekend aboard this amazingly cozy & romantic sail boat. Convenient to Norfolk & Virginia Beach, the location is prime!

The space
"Invictus" is THE perfect romantic destination sailboat! Conveniently located only steps from a fantastic seafood restaurant, breathtaking sunsets, glass-like water for a peaceful night's sleep, and 5 star reviews.... it's just perfect for the romantic couple! #honeymoon #anniversary #romance

This "Tiny Home" on water garners amazing reviews from guests that mention words like Peaceful, Romantic, Cozy, Elegant, Bright, Inviting, Adorable, Memorable, Must Do, "everything you need - along with the view of a lifetime", "the EXPERIENCE is amazing", "best Airbnb yet". We agree - that's what our space is all about!

A Marina Paradise: This area of VA is so beautiful! It's a water lover adventurer's dream come true. Some of our favorite things to do in the area include dipping our feet in the water, going for a walk around the marina, renting an electric boat and cruising the bay, and fishing from the pier. All of these activities are available right from the marina. We also enjoy ready access to the "historic triangle" and Virginia Beach. There are several incredible restaurants nearby! There's just so much to do you'll need more than one night to begin to scratch the surface. We'll provide you a personalized guide to all of them.

If it's raining on your parade, just pop up some microwave popcorn, wrap in one of the soft blankets, and snuggle up to watch one of your favorite movies on your phone using the available free Wi-Fi.

The Bedroom: In a sail boat - it's called a sleeping berth. Our V-Berth (named for the shape of the front of the boat) receives review after raving review on how incredibly comfortable our queen size foam mattress is. We like to leave the Hatch open on cooler nights (think of it like a little sky light window that opens) to enjoy waking up with the sun as it rises over the deck.

The Kitchen: On a sailboat it's called the Galley. Ours comes with a Kurig single serve coffee/hot cocoa maker (bring your favorite flavors). Think of the kitchen like a hotel room kitchenette. There's a modern but retro looking microwave to warm up last night's restaurant leftovers, and a little fridge to keep some groceries and drinks cool - but we prefer to go out to eat instead of cooking. There's SOOO many good restaurants within a 10 to 15 minute drive.

The Bathroom: On a sail boat it's called the "Head" and it's really meant for the "essential business". Typical to sailboats of this size, there is no shower. However, the Marina has a very nice bathhouse facility with showers and laundry facilities where most guests will choose to use the restroom.

Upon booking confirmation, you will receive lots of information from us to help you with planning the fun details of your vacation in the area. It will have links and contact info to local activities, boat rentals, hiking, restaurants etc. Think of it like a personalized tour guide from someone with decades of experience in the area. It will also have a YouTube video walkthrough of the boat so you'll feel like a true skipper when you step aboard, knowing all the ins and outs.

A Little History about us: My family and I transferred from Alaska to Virginia via an Air Force move. We didn't really learn to appreciate Virginia until we discovered the water. We retired from active duty after 20+yrs in late 2023 and are currently back in Alaska which means we get to share "Invictus" with you!

Guest access
Our sailboat provides the PERFECT environment for a younger, healthy couple to enjoy a romantic retreat. It simply isn't suitable for mobility limited guests. We also don't allow pets or children. And of course, no smoking of ANY kind on the sailboat.

Other things to note
While this is a sailboat, our agreement with the Marina and Airbnb is that you'll not be able to actually SAIL the boat. Your stay will be aboard the boat while it's tied safely and securely to the dock at the Marina. IF venturing out on the water is something you're interested in, we can point you to the right folks at the Marina for a day cruise on an electric boat, or even a fishing charter. Just reach out to us and let us know what you'd like to do.

Neighborhood highlights

The Marina is surrounded by boats of all shapes and sizes. Tucked into a coastal area of Hampton, it's a haven for those that love the water and are fascinated by watercraft. Of course, our favorite feature of the Marina is the amazing Seafood restaurant. We love to take a walk along the coastline and wave at the residents who offer a friendly smile and wave back.
