Interaction with Guests
As our guests stay in a private apartment within our house, it is really up to our guests how much they wish to interact with us. We live directly upstairs from the apartment and try to stop in and visit our guests once or twice during their visit, to ensure that all is going well and answer any questions. Our guests are invited to get in touch with us at any time during their visit.
We are always around when we have guests visiting.
We have a very quiet neighborhood that is perfect for relaxing before or after a long day in NYC.

This is the absolute best place to stay while visiting! I had a blast during my visit.
The night I arrived, Mark and Lori graciously created me. They're super friendly had answers to any question I had, and even ones I didn't I have. There's even a binder of helpful tid-bits on how to get around and places to go.
The apartment was well furnished and very warm. Every amenity they say they have, they have. Plenty of blankets, towels, etc. No problems with the WiFi.
Lastly, the view. The view of the city skyline is amazing, and worth the stay alone. Its cheap to get to and from the city, and is a very good change of pace when you want to relax from the "hive-like" atmosphere, that is the city, of New York City.
10/10 would recommend/stay again.
P.S. I left some souvenirs in NY while rushing to the airport. Turns out I left it in my rental car. They thoroughly s www arched, and got back to me promptly and courteously.
Mark & Lori we're very kind to take us three in at the last minute with nearly a midnight booking for noon the next day, on a weekend. Awesome service.
Their groovy room is quite comfortable and they didn't mind a cold guy like me running the heat. The kitchen and laundry room is well prepared for your short or long term stay.
Getting to and from the city couldn't be easier. Fantastic places nearby for eating. If we weren't such on the road folks, we'd not mind staying a bit longer.
Lastly, when they found out their street parking permit was expired, they let me park my boat of a car in their garage.
Super service extraordinaries they are!
The Groovy Apartment was just as picture, and Mark and Lori were wonderful hosts. We found it easy to get back and forth to Manhattan, and the skyline view from up the block was amazing. It was nice to have a quiet place to return to after the busy-ness of the earlier part of the day, the bed was comfortable, and we would definitely consider a return visit.
What a perfect stay ! If we ever go back to New York, we will stay here again for sure! The place itself is great, you ll have everything you ll need. It was very clean and confortable. It is also very quiet. Mark and Lori left lots of very clear infos about New York and how to get there with gipsy bus but also about nice places to go to. We tested out some of them and were very happy about it. We could park easily in the street. Around the house you ll also have some shops, cafes and restaurant if needed. Now, the cherry on the cake : the skyline of New York from the street in front, just breathtaking. You can keep admiring from the gipsy bus which a funny experience and cheap quick way (if no traffic though) to reach New York. In short we had an amazing stay !
Mark and Lori were very very helpful, providing us with all info we needed and answering to all the questions we had prior to arrival. Their apartment is very nice, has all utilities you need, extra keys, maps, recommendatios, etc. Location of the apartment is extremely convenient (10-15 min to Times Sq). We had a great time and would recommend the Groovy Apartment to everybody!
Excellent séjour à (West) New York.
Excellent stay in (West) New York.
Mark & Lori have written a "book" with the lines of bus to take to visit the city, ideas of restaurants, attractions, the rules of the apartment, etc.
The neighborhood is very quiet, very safe and very close to public transport, ATM and mini market.
I highly recommend this apartment.
Again thank you for everything.
Lori is originally from Brooklyn and snuck out to NJ when her parents weren’t paying attention. Mark grew up in New Jersey, tried another place or two, ultimately deciding there is no place like home.
After a long career in advertising, Lori now works as a horticultural therapist at NYU Langone Medical Center. That also pretty much means that she’s the one who keeps the front garden and backyard looking so wonderful!
Mark works as a Product Manager for a financial software company, enjoys playing volleyball and listening to live music. He is always seeking out interesting events in the Tri-state area.
We spend much of our time in New York City and love taking advantage of all the City has to offer. We'd be happy to recommend our favorite spot for music, places to eat or drink, and keep you aware of what we know is going on in the Big City.
