eclectic art and vintage lamps make for a dreamy, worldly ambiance - master bedroom looking at hallway and living room in mirror reflection.
We are Veta and Blanco... we like to travel so we are offering our master bedroom to you while we're away! Our sub-letter who you'd be staying with is lovely (more on her below).
The ROOM is peaceful, has AC / fan unit and plenty of heat -- complete with art and objets from around the world, giving it a very worldly and story-filled ambiance.
The APARTMENT is similar. It's a two bedroom, one bath, with nice spacious living room area and all the usual amenities -- internet, basic cable bedding, towels, spices and pans for cooking etc. -- tons of light through large beautiful windows. Also plenty of heat!
The BATHROOM is borderline teeny, however, it has a full tub / shower, stellar water-pressure and also a lovely window which keeps it fresh, dry and airy! The sink, as in many old-school NY apartments is only in the kitchen.
We love living in Williamsburg because it is a vibrant, youthful and very creative place. There are countless restaurants, boutiques, music venues, parks, etc. AND while it's super close to Manhattan, it's also just far enough out of the city to have a more spacious, relaxing, neighborhood feel.
One block from Montrose stop on L-TRAIN, which is 4 short stops from Bedford Avenue (about 10m) and 5 short stops out of Manhattan (about 15m to Union Square). Also a short walk from J/M/Z and G trains. Here's the latest post-Hurricane subway link: (website hidden)
THE THREE BLOCKS AROUND OUR HOUSE INCLUDE:
-- several 24hr corner stores
-- lovely latte-shop CUP
-- popular Dunwell Doughnuts (organic and amazing!!! +wifi)
-- KHIMS Natural / Organic Market
-- Laundry-mat and Dry Cleaning
-- Boulevard Cafe (great cheap eats / good coffee / internet)
-- Bagel Brothers
-- Danny's Pizza
-- Anchored Inn (bar w/late night food)
-- within 10m walk are a wide range of other restaurants including famous Roberta's Pizza and Momo Sushi and others.
ROOMMATE / SUB-LETTER
If she's around, you may be sharing the apartment with our sub-letter and awesome cousin -- Annabel -- woman, early-20s, works in the hospitality biz (go figure!), quiet, clean, speaks French and has one of loveliest temperaments you'll ever meet.
NO SMOKING / NO PETS / NO DRUGS EVER
Normal-to-quiet noise levels throughout day / night
DISHES must be cleaned after use / cooking, including stove + pans
No overnight guests on the couch in living room
And now, because AirBNB says we should have at least 51 words on this part of our listing I guess we'll have to make up a few other nit-picky house rules even though in reality we're very chill people. These are a few of the things we do that we would hope people who stayed with us might naturally behave in a similar way:
We clean the stove and dishes after we cook
We clean our own hair out of the shower drain after each use
We eat only our groceries unless offered or asked
Most of all we love for people to be who they are and to feel at home in our home!
Veta + Blanco were super cool and accommodating! The apartment is very nice and clean and in a cool part of Brooklyn very close to the L train. There is a lot going on in that neighborhood and it is easy to get into the city from there. I didn't have much time to hang out, but Veta and Blanco both seem cool and friendly and I'm sure they have tons of ideas for someone who is visiting this area for the first time. A great place to stay!
Communication was outstanding
All needs were taken in2 consideration
We enjoyed staying @ Veta & Blanco's place
Kitschy - fun decor
Convenient loc re: L train
