My wife and I stayed in Ciro's wonderful apartment in mid-March 2015. Ciro met us upon arrival at the apartment and explained all the practicalities. The apartment itself is very well appointed and clean. Having an elevator in the building (albeit a very small one) is a bonus after all the walking around. The location is fantastic - you're within walking distance of all the main cultural sites and inexpensive trattorias. It is a little noisy outside but it's to be expected in any historic downtown location. Overall, we had a great time in Florence and felt very comfortably in Ciro's apartment.
Ciro was the perfect host and the apartment is simply perfect. You don't get the sense from photos of just how large the apartment is, and it was perfect for 3 of us. Ciro's recommendations for the city were fantastic and the welcome was warm, friendly and thorough.
The most breathtaking part of the apartment - the view. Again, photos don't do justice to the magnificent vista welcoming you in the morning. And when you are walking around the city and are unsure of which way to head back, what a fantastic landmark in the Doumo to guide you home!
I highly recommend this apartment to all looking for the best location in Florence and will be sure to check availability should I ever return.
Ciro was a great host! He gave us a quick but detailed tour of the apartment and all things we should know and followed-up with a detailed email of suggestions and tips on what to do during our stay. Much appreciated! The apartment clearly has AMAZING views and is in a perfect location - nearly everything you'd want to visit is within an easy 5-15 minute walk from the apartment. The place was actually bigger than we'd anticipated, so that was a nice surprise. One tip: if you're visiting in the winter, bring slippers given that the hardwood floors are cold in response to the shortened heating hours allowed by city ordinance.
The Duomo Apartment was fantastic! The view from the bedroom window is exactly as you see it on the web site! It is very centrally located and all major sites are very easily accessible. Ciro was extremely helpful. He sent me an email with links and directions to many sites close by, restaurants, markets, and places to buys tickets for the museums and tours. He was extremely responsive to my questions and was just an email away. Florence is a magical city and I can't wait to visit her again and stay in Ciro's apartment!
This quite large apartment was exactly as advertised. Ciro met us at the apartment, showed us how everything worked, gave us a very nice bottle of red wine, then later emailed us a list of restaurants, shops & museum tickets with links. The apartment was clean and the kitchen had everything you would want. The location is the best in town, you can never lose your way home. As Ciro has stated, you will hear street noise at night, ear plugs are essential for the light sleeper. We would recommend this apartment without reservations.
The view of Duomo was fantastic. Just across the cupola. My parents and I could drop by Ciro's house several times during day tour. I used laundry and kitchen for two days. The house was much bugger than expected! I loved it!!
