Come gather and relax at our unique and beautiful cabin with a view of the Cowlitz River and surrounding mountains, as well as nearby river access and gorgeous hiking trails minutes away. Whether you want to stay and relax or have a cozy and comfortable place to rest after a day of skiing, hiking, mountain biking, or exploring beautiful Mount Rainier National Park and the Tatoosh Wilderness, Bluebird Cabin is the perfect place for your mountain getaway.
The space
Welcome to Bluebird Cabin, a cozy mountain retreat located in Packwood, Washington near beautiful Mt. Rainier! This charming cabin is located right near the Cowlitz River and offers beautiful river views from our front deck. The cabin features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a game room with a shuffleboard, foosball table, and card games, making it perfect for families or groups of friends!
Inside, you'll find a cozy living room with a gas fireplace, perfect for snuggling up on chilly nights. The fully-equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals during your stay. The bedrooms are charmingly decorated and designed to provide a peaceful night's sleep in your mountain getaway.
Step outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery from the cabin's spacious deck out front. The deck features a fire table and plush outdoor patio furniture, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the natural beauty of the river and mountains.
The cabin is located in close proximity to a variety of hiking trails, including the Goat Rocks Wilderness, White Pass, and Cowlitz Divide Trail. White Pass ski resort is a local gem and offers spectacular ski runs, from beginner to advanced runs for skiers of all abilities.! The Packwood area is great for skiing, fishing, kayaking, rafting, and mountain biking and has something for everyone! You'll find plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventure and relaxation at Bluebird Cabin.

**Please note, up to two dogs under 40lbs can be added to the reservation with an associated pet fee of $150. Pets must be added to the reservation by the guest. Guests who are found to have an unauthorized pet will be charged an additional fee of $200 and may be required to leave the property at the time of notice.
Guest access
Guests will have full access to the cabin and garage, excluding one owners closet and outdoor shed.
Other things to note
We are happy to be a pet friendly rental and allow up to 2 dogs under 40 lbs, with an associated pet fee of $175 per stay. Owners are responsible for supervising their pet at all times, keeping all dogs on leash, and disposing of pet waste. Pets are not allowed on furniture and owners will be responsible for any damages caused by their pet. Please reference our pet policy for additional rules and information. An additional cleaning fee of $100 will be assessed if pet waste is not picked up by the guests and disposed of in the garbage prior to checkout.
We recommend 4 wheel drive vehicles and having chains available for driving through the mountain passes. The east entrance to Mt Rainier is open during summer months, but closed during winter months. Please refer to the national park website for updated hours.
~ Power Outages: Packwood can experience an outage during a heavy rain or wind storm. You'll find emergency flashlights in the drawers of the black hutch in the dining room and candle lanterns in the living room and game room. The gas fireplace is operated by remote (located in the basket by the front door), and this can function well during any outages. PUD is usually quick to respond and restore our area. Power outages are outside of our control, and refunds cannot be issued for lack of power. The outage will often not affect the main strip in Packwood, and if you need WIFI or cell coverage you may be able to do so at Mountain Goat Coffee or other local businesses.
~ We do not provide firewood for the outdoor firepit. If you chose to use our outdoor fire pit be prepared to bring wood, otherwise bundles can be purchased at Blanton's grocery store in town.
~ Please note that, per the listing amenities, there is no air conditioning unit at the cabin. We do have a whole house fan that is available. It provides a wonderful breeze for cooling the house using outside air, but it not a coolant-utilizing unit and cannot cool the cabin to the level that a traditional AC would be able to.
~We do not provide bug spray or any additional outdoor supplies. Mosquitos and other bugs are common in western Washington during the spring, summer, and fall. Please bring your preferred outdoor supplies and bug spray as needed to enjoy your stay.
~The community pool is located at the HOA clubhouse and is open seasonally, per the High Valley HOA. Unexpected closures may occur that our outside of our control, and refunds will not be issued for lack of pool or other clubhouse amenity access. There is a $10 fee for use of the community pool (regulated and paid to the HOA, and subject to change at their discretion). We do not collect or manage this fee. Guests also can have access to the golf course when available and with associated fees, as listed on the community facility website.
