Calm and convenient location

Guests say this area is peaceful and it’s easy to get around.

The space
A detached guest house on our property, the retreat includes a full bathroom with shower, one bedroom with a queen size bed and hanging space for clothes, a main living room with convertible sleeper sofa (full size), a kitchen area with microwave, small refrigerator, sink, hot plate, Keurig coffee maker, and full access to a shared outdoor Moroccan-themed lounge and relaxing backyard with beautiful garden area. The hot tub is available only when no guests are in the main house. There is no stove or oven located in the unit. Separate entrance is located around the back (to the left of the home when looking at it) with a keyless pin pad to get through the gate. If you have a larger party, there is a separate listing for the main house: https://abnb.me/qh8OOjQwjrb

Guest access
Guests have private access to their entire detached guest house unit and shared access to outdoor spaces in the backyard, including shared access to the outdoor lounge, and garden areas.

Other things to note
The guest house combines a mix of old and new. There is new mini split wall system for AC and heat, ceiling fans, as well as space heaters to provide comfort in the seasons if needed. It cools off and warms up quickly. Please be energy and water conscious.

The outdoor kitchen space corner is also used by the guest house cleaner, so do expect to see cleaning products and such out if this is something that bothers you.

Garbage day is on Wednesday if the street noise such as this bothers you, the yard maintenance comes on Thursdays, which does include blowers.

We offer free coffee, tea, along with occasional snacks, goodies, or in season fruit located in the guest house. There is a Keurig coffee maker in the unit with coffee and tea. There is an electric teapot and a hot plate. There is Brita filtered water located inside the mini fridge. There is no stove or oven (just a kitchenette). The unit does not have a TV. There is plenty of open street parking available.

Sacramento is a city that is full of trees, pollen, yard blowers, etc. so unfortunately I cannot control how dusty and full of pollen the outdoor spaces are. It is a daily struggle in our city. It is the worst in the spring and fall. The indoor spaces are clean.

The sofa in the living space folds down to a full size bed if needed for an extra sleeping surface. We provide bedding inside the sofa. Please use the sheets for this if you use it and leave dirty sheets out for cleaning.

Our unit is kid-friendly but not entirely kid-proof. There are some outdoor and indoor toys provided as well as child-friendly dishware.

Please make sure your guest count is accurate prior to booking or alter your reservation to reflect an accurate guest count.

*No animals of any kind allowed due to pet allergies. Thanks!

Neighborhood highlights

Our tree-lined street is located in an older neighborhood in Sacramento. The home on the property was built in 1925. Our neighborhood has some gems: plenty of free street parking, a local bakery (Freeport Bakery) and donut shop (Marie's Donuts) close by. The zoo and Fairytale town are close by as well as a huge Sunday farmers market. Our home is located walking/biking distance to the capitol, convention center, Golden One Center, parks, the zoo, Old Sacramento, and numerous restaurants/bars/galleries/clubs downtown as well as several restaurants and a local brewery on Broadway (New Helvetia). The closest coffee is Mast Coffee across broadway. There is an old theatre very close by (Tower Theatre) as well as Tower Restaurant, with a beautiful outdoor eating area. The Sacramento convention center is located 1.7 miles by car and 1.3 miles by foot.

Restaurants: There are many ethnic restaurants within walking distance: Japanese, Thai, Ethiopian, Himalayan, Chinese, American, pizza, burgers, and Tower Cafe is a mix.

Some breakfast places we recommend within walking distance are Tower Cafe, Dad's Restaurant, and Meet & Eat.

Please visit Sacramento visitors website for additional information about the city, places to go, and things to do!

My work: Psychotherapist
I'm a super positive gal who loves an adventure, thrifting, the outdoors, international travel, and hanging with friends. I love chatting over coffee or drinks, dancing, music, interesting people, movies, taking walks or bikerides, animals, and evenings at home with my partner. I'll try almost anything once! I'm part hippie and part city girl, you'll know what that means when you meet me. I laugh a lot, love theatre, and unexpected adventures. My boyfriend Ken and I both live on the property and you might see one or both of us during your stay. We travel when we can so sometimes we aren’t around as well. Our city: There's always something going on around Sacramento: cultural events, festivals, antique shows, etc. I enjoy thrift shopping, bicycling, beer & wine fests, theatre, good conversation, and art. My backyard is great for entertaining and I love relaxing with my kitties or lying in the hammock, chatting, good wine or cocktails, and music.
