The Space

Welcome to historic South Melbourne!
Lovely room in top floor apartment with security entry, 2 km (1.2 miles) from the city centre, 3 km from St Kilda , 1.5 km from South Melbourne beach, and walking distance through parkland to the MCG and Rod Laver Arena. Safe comfortable accommodation for maximum 2 people.

Your Room
There is an exceptionally comfortable queen size bed, your very own private bathroom and separate toilet. All bed linen and fresh fluffy towels are supplied, including beach towels for the pool or beach.
There's also a hairdryer, bathrobes, snuggly rugs and chiropractic pillows.
You will have stunning panoramic views over South Melbourne, Port Phillip Bay and Albert Park from every room. You can watch the ferry leave for Tasmania at sunset, or hot air balloons at sunrise.

Where To Go?
The score on the “walkscore” website is 95/100 which means it's really close to everything you need and yes, you can walk there!

How to Get Here
Skybus from the airport to Southern Cross Station, then a short cab or tram ride to mine.
MYKI cards are supplied for public transport, just top up as you go.

The Botanic Gardens and Shrine of Remembrance are at the top of the street, along with the famous Tan walking/jogging track.

Explore South Melbourne, famous for once having a hotel on nearly every corner to cater for the "six o'clock swill" of the 1960’s!
Melbourne Aquatic Centre with wave pool, spas, squash courts and more is a short walk away at Albert Park Lake.
There is a Melbourne bike share station on our street corner too.

Guest Access

For breakfast, you're welcome to help yourself to tea/coffee, cereal and toast.
For those who like to cook, you have full use of the kitchen, or there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and pubs close by for those who don't! (Please eat at the dining room table, not in the bedroom).
A supermarket and bottle shop is a handy 50 metres away. There's a barbecue on the balcony too.
Full laundry with large washer, dryer and laundry products is available to freshen up those travel clothes.
Fast wireless internet is included and available through the whole apartment. A WIFI connected tablet is in your room for your use, also a 40" flatscreen TV.
Other bonuses are a heated pool, tennis court (two racquets available) and a gym.
And just in case it rains (in Melbourne??) there are plenty of new and old movies, books, Kindle and audio books for your phone/ipad and board games to keep you entertained.

Interaction with Guests

The whole apartment is available for guests to utilise, except of course my bedroom and ensuite. I am home most nights, watching my new favourite TV series or a movie.

The Neighborhood

Clarendon Street is a short walk and has something for everyone - beautiful wide streets and footpaths, cobblestone lanes, lots of restaurants, cafes and bars, eclectic shopping, a great market, it's much more local and friendly, and still within walking or tram distance of the city.

Getting Around

Catch a #55 tram at my door step to take you straight to Melbourne Convention Centre, Southbank and Crown Casino, the Aquarium, the city centre, then on to Queen Victoria Market and even Melbourne Zoo. Hop off at he river for waterside walk to Exhibition Centre, South Wharf. The domain interchange tram stop is just two minutes away, where you can catch trams to almost anywhere in inner Melbourne. It takes just ten minutes to almost everything - for the city, Federation Square, Southbank and major sporting venues, take any tram northbound. For St Kilda it's #16, Chapel Street #6, Toorak Road #8.
For drivers, it's two minutes to Citylink, twenty to the airport.
Street parking is free overnight and on weekends.

Other Things to Note

There are NO cleaning fees.
I will email directions for arrival following booking confirmation.
More detailed information is available on arrival, along with Myki cards and WIFI password.
