About this listing
Come for your holidays in my nice apartment in the heart of Venice. It can confortably host up to 5 people, with a private garden, and it is only two steps away from S. Marco square, in one of the most ancient districts of Venezia.
A little and warm house with independent access, recently restored, in optimal position, only a few minutes away from both the train station and the docks, and also all the most famous locations of the city.
It is in fact very easy to reach from this house, in a very small time, the famous Piazza S. Marco, the Rialto district and, by ferry, San Giorgio and Murano islands.
Futhermore, the house is always safe from the frequent high tides of the Lagoon, while still remaining close to the places of interest mentioned above.
The house is on a single floor made of:
- living room with dining table and television
- small kitchen with fridge/freezer, hob, sink and microwave oven
- toilet with shower, washbowl and bidet
In the bedroom there are a double bed and a single one, and also in the living room there is a sofa bed, so up to 5 persons can be accomodated.
In the district you'll find all the commodities you might ever need, for example a grocery always supplied with fresh fruit and vegetables, a baker, a hairdresser and a mini-market.
For those who want to avoid cooking, there is also plenty of choice in term of restaurants and pizzerias, which offer a good taste of the local cuisine.
- check-in is allowed from 12pm to 4pm; check-in between 8pm and 10pm will require an additional fee of 40€, or 50€ when between 10pm and 12am; check-in after 12am is not allowed
- check-out must be before 10am ( arrival in day is appeciated )
- stay tax is 2.00€ per person, as required by venice municipality, except for kids between 10 and 16, who pay only 1.00€, and kids below 10, who pay nothing; this tax must be paid in cash at the moment of arrival, together with a photocopy of the identity card, and fiscal codice.
- trash must be placed outside the apartment door before 8:30am; venice municipality can inflict a fine up to 100€ for infractions
- customers are required to empty the fridge on the day of departure and leave the apartment in order
- customers must communicate the expected time of arrival

Monica and her husband were wonderful. They were very personable, and they made every effort to give us tips for restaurants and the great wine shop around the corner. The apartment itself was small and got quite hot, but that's simply what you get in Venice. The apartment was very clean, and it was about a 10-15 min walk to San Marco. The only major drawback was that the apartment doesn't have wifi, and the cafe round the corners wifi was broken. Venice is a very hot and confusing city so it was quite hard for us to orientate ourselves and find other recommendations without this.
Monica was very helpful. She met us at the boat station and took us to the apartment, showing us around and giving all necessary information.
The apartment is clean and cosy, with all necessary utensils, and a small private courtyard which was nice for eating breakfast.
It is not a large apartment, so it was great for us as a couple, but may be a little cramped for more than two.
The neighborhood has a real local feel, with the butcher, wine shop, grocery shop, small cofeeshop (with free wifi) and local bar, right around the corner. Also it is not a long walk to San Marco or Rialto (around 15 min. if you don't get lost on the way...).
All in all, we were very satisfied with the apartment and highly recommend it.
Monica’s apartment on Calle Errizzo in Venice suited us to a tee. We could not have been happier in our week spent there. To begin, she and her husband met us at the boat from the airport & helped us tote our luggage to the apartment, They spent 20 min. or so going over apartment details & a few thoughts about Venice & then left us to settle in. They were friendly & helpful throughout. The apartment was located on a typical narrow back street in The Castello district, near the Arsenale. Right around the corner was a small collection of local shops, …. butcher, baker, greengrocer, hardware, & a few small cafes & tavernas. “Al Canton” became our go-to morning cappuccino stop. It was maybe 20 steps from our front door. Everything else one would need for a week’s stay could be found within less than one normal city block from the flat. This was a true neighborhood, peopled by real working Venetians. There was no trace of the mass tourism plaguing the central core of Venice.
The apartment itself was small & absolutely spotless. There were 3 small rooms & a tiny, private walled courtyard with table & chairs at the rear. The kitchenette had the usual… sink, stove, microwave, apt. size fridge, etc. plus a good selection of dishware & utensils. The bathroom, likewise, had shower, but no bathtub. Everything was fairly new & in good working order. The bedroom had one double & one single bed, not new, but perfectly comfy, with plenty of closet & storage space. The whole apt. was quite simple & charming, with plain white painted wood walls, & Monica’s bright red decorations. My wife loved it & said it was like a typical New England beach cottage. We spent the first week of May there, & the weather was perfect…high 70s during the day & low 60s at night. We never needed to turn on the heat & the apt. always remained cooler than the street, during the heat of the day. I can’t say what July or August might be like.
We used the vaporetto only for daytrips to Murano & Burano. S. Marco square was a 10-15 min walk. Rialto bridge was 5-10 min. further. The crowds were bothersome, leaving S.Marco towards the North, or West, but headed East to our neighborhood in the Castello, the throngs & noise quickly evaporated. Returning to Monica’s apartment in our cozy neighborhood was always a quiet relief from the frenzy of the center.
My wife & I loved this apartment. My only caveat is, that this is a small apartment. The shower is tiny, as is the kitchenette. Larger folks, used to more space, might find this flat cramped. We never found it so, but others might disagree. That said, I could recommend this apartment to any couple interested in a true Venetian living experience. We intend to return & I can’t imagine a better place to stay or a nicer hostess.
tutto perfetto! Monica è gentilissima e simpaticissima, la casa è curata e accogliente, la posizione molto buona per visitare Venezia. Consigliatissima!
The apartment was exactly as described and pictured, and Monica was very friendly. We were lucky enough to not need them, but there are even rain boots and umbrellas in the apartment along with a few basics in the kitchen. The front door was a little tricky, but with a bit of persistence and maneuvering, we were always able to get it open- so remember to stay calm if you start to worry that you are locked in or locked out.
