So great!! Houses like this and hosts like Dian are what makes Airbnb the best way to travel. The house was amazing. Better than I imagined from the photos. Comfortable bed, great kitchen, bathroom and pool. And all in a nice area. Nok (the housekeeper) and her husband went out of their way to make our stay relaxing and comfortable.
And Dian, the host, even introduced us to her friends and local artists. She made our stay much more enjoyable than if we were just tourists in a hotel.
We stayed for 5 nights at this lovely house. The house is generally the same as listed in the listing. It was perfect with the pool especially after a long hot day outside. The rooms provided were spacious and could have been better if clothes hangers were also provided in the cupboards. Dian (the Host) was also prompt in providing assistance when needed. She assisted in getting a driver for us throughout our stay here in Jogja. However, the driver services provided could have been better if he could be more attentive towards our safety and needs. Laundry services was just 1 minute walk from home and mini mart within walking distance. We didn't get to explore the neighbourhood area as we were pretty much tired from our daily activities and preferred to just hang out by the pool or the living area. The housekeepers were kind too in helping us out whenever possible. Overall, I would rate 8/10 for the experience staying at this place.
The house was beautiful and the pool was great to have after a long day out. The live-in maid and her husband are very nice and helped arrange a private driver for us. She also cooked us amazing Indonesian breakfasts everyday! The house is just a short drive to Malioboro, we didn't have any issues getting a taxi. There are restaurants within walking distance as well.
We stayed at Dian's place for almost 3 weeks, with my wife and our 5 month old twin girls. Her home is such a wonderful place. We had a very memorable stay, the house is spacious and pool is a treat. However, it was the housekeepers that made our stay very special. We got to know Nasuha, his wife Nok and their young daughter Fitri very well. They keep the place immaculately and go out of their way to help you in every way possible, from calling taxis, to hiring a bike, to suggesting places to eat. They don't speak English but Nok does understand a fair bit. As I was in Jogja learning Indonesian at language school, it was great to practice my Bahasa with them in the evenings. Dian also arranged for us to hire Nok as our nanny during the day to help my wife with our twins while I was at school. Although not part of her usual duties, she was superb, very patient and caring (like many Indonesians are towards children). The location is good, 10mins by taxi to Jn. Malioboro, which is only $2. We found some great satay nearby, a nice seafood restaurant and mini market, all 5 mins walk from the house. As it's not a tourist area you can walk around nearby villages hassle free, talk and meet locals who are always happy to greet foreigners with some small talk and a laugh! We loved that about the place. As suggested by another reviewer, it would be nice if there was a more comfortable lounge suite in the living area. The air-con throughout the house is adequate, there are however no ceiling fans. Will definitely stay here again when we return to Jogja.
Quick to reply questions and all agreements have been met. The house is beautifully designed, spacious and centrally located. All rooms and bathrooms are perfect and the beds sleep fine.
The live-in maid and her husband will do anything to make your stay comfortable. The pool is the cherry on the pie! A perfect place to come back to after a long day of work, sightseeing or whatever.
Although the furniture is gorgeous (javanese style teak) it has some room for improvement; there's no bedside furniture in the master bedroom and no sitting/lounging furniture in the garden near the pool. Also the couch in the living room isn't very comfortable and it's impossible to do some cozy cuddling on it. If you want to chill out properly, do like us and bring your own inflatable mattress :)
The house is very nice, full of light and not hot even without air conditioning. it is decorated tastefully in modern Indonesian style. The swimming pool is a nice break from the heat of the city (although it was quite murky when we arrived and it was cleaned only the day after).
The helpful house staff will prepare breakfast for you- we requested local food and tried some interesting Jogjakarta specialties. However, they speak no English so if you don't know Malay you may have some trouble.
The area is nice and leafy, although not central- we occasionally had trouble finding a taxi off the main road- however, it is way more authentic than the hotels around Malioboro so I would recommend it.
We rented the entire house for about 4 nights. Though it was rather pricey but we get the entire house with access to 4 rooms, huge living space area, open concept kitchen and a pool. The house is well maintained. Dian our host has a live-in maid who were there 24 hours to help with our needs, clean the pool and to clean the entire place everyday. The location, though, was quite hard to find but if you are hiring a private car I am sure this is not an issue. Dian also would be glad to give direction or help arrange transport for you. Authentic indonesian breakfast is served every morning, and Wifi is also available in the house. As for the host, she is a very friendly, and helpful host who have travelled and lived overseas. Communication is definitely not an issue.
