About this listing
Welcome to a small room in Bogotá.
Is very quite and independent as is located on the first floor of the house. It also has a private bathroom.
The place is a big and well illuminated duplex. The location is right in the historic city center (La Candelaria) Close to everything, the mountains, museums, touristic places, bars, restaurants, supermarkets. etc.
There is also a bus station right one block from the building.
Info about La Candelaria
La Candelaria is a historic neighborhood in downtown Bogotá, Colombia. It is the equivalent to the Old City in other cities. The architecture of the old houses, churches and buildings has Spanish Colonial and Baroque styles. It houses several universities, libraries and museums.
This museum, located on 11th St., contains works by painter/sculptor Fernando Botero as well as works by artists including Monet and Picasso from Botero's private collection.
It's one of the most important museums of Colombia, It has a collection of more than 36,000 pieces in gold, wood, shell and stone organized in its three floors; the museum is property of the Republic Bank and is located in front of Santander Park.

Super super friendly host! So helpful, they even gave me a text in Spanish to show the driver so as to get to the apartment from the airport easily. Any questions I had were answered eminently and couldn't have been more helpful! The location was perfect! Right next to everything, great fun part of town with everything close by. Room and bathroom very basic but if you don't mind sacrificing a bit of luxury for friendly hosts and good location it's a good place to stay!
Well I'm writing this reviews based on my mom's experience. She had an amazing time in Bogota, even though she lives in the same country (different city) she felt like she was home. She met one of the host's sister and she was really sweet to her. She end up assisting my mom with anything and went to a cool concert together. The apartment is very convenient to who ever wants to stay on downtown side. They have a bus station and really nice places to go to. Thank you so much for your hospitality!! Ninssen & Luz Dary
Exelente lugar.
This AirBNB was in a great spot right in La Candelaria so it was very easy to get to the sights. The single traveller has to bear in mind that most good restaurants are not open at night in the area and that it's unsafe to walk around. Then you need to catch a taxi to a more salubrious area. The hosts provided good granola and fruit and real colombian coffee. I only talked to Diego once when I picked up the key and mainly corresponded with William via AirBNB.
Good value for your own bathroom and comfy bed.
The room is tiny, as advertised, but the bed is comfortable and the private bathroom is a huge plus, and on the whole the room is very workable for someone who wants to spend most of the time out and about in Bogotá. And as for the neighborhood, the location, between the statue of La Pola and the Las Aguas church, is in my opinion the best possible location in El Centro Bogotá -- right next to Candelaria, but without the tiny cramped streets, with easy access to cabs and the Transmilenio. If you want consumption (trendy stores and shops), then pay a lot more for a place near Zona Rosa, but El Centro is the place for the full cultural life of Bogotá: students, business people, street people, government officials, protests, museums everywhere, little theatres, soldiers, police, police dogs, street vendors, and yes garbage, graffiti, and in some places, smells. The Eje Ambiental (the San Francisco river running through a series of descending pools in the middle of Avenida Jimenez) and the Parque Periodistas (both right outside the door of William and Diego's building) were both under reconstruction when I was there, and I doubt they will ever look as clean as they do in the big placards announcing the work, but they both provide touches of relaxed pedestrian street life amid the hectic bustle of El Centro. A great deal, nice building, attentive but not intrusive hosts, 24 hour security, in short, perfect for anyone who prefers vibrant culture to elegant shopping and is willing to put up with a tiny room.
Note: the WIFI was good but not great when I was there--about 2mbs up and down, but the signal was sometimes weak inside the room, and there were occasional outages, as there seem to be with almost all internet connections Bogotá. Good enough to use with a phone or tablet while sitting on the bed, good enough for Skype audio, borderline good enough for Skype video, but in general not good enough to log in remotely to your office computer with a laptop. William said the signal had been stronger in the past, and he was working with the provider to improve the connection. The internet, in short, was good enough to keep in touch and look things up, but not good enough to work remotely. Given its size, this room probably isn't the right place for a location-independent internet-based worker any way.
Best location, great view from the living room, private bathroom and room were all I needed.
