Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • This is a really lovely apartment, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms - very convenient. A lot of traffic noise, as it is just off a very busy main road into the city. You soon get used to it though! David met us and showed us around the apartment, gave us plenty of information about Melbourne and made us feel very safe and comfortable to be there.

  • Had a lovely stay! Apartment was great for two couples, having that extra bathroom was awesome. Great location! Will stay there again

  • My husband and i stayed for a week in this very nice apartment. The apartment is very bright and full of light. It is very well and comfortably furnished, especially the kitchen. And with the 3 minute walk to the tram, and to all the delights of Toorak Road, the location is extremely convenient. David was a very accommodating and responsive host. We would stay here again if/when returning to Melbourne.

  • Have stayed there before, will stay there again. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms means it's easy to share if travelling with a friend, as we did.

Close to Toorak Rd restaurants, takeaway, supermarkets are all nearby, and there's a great french bakery only 100m away. Further afield, it's not a great stretch to walk to the NGV or into the city, via the Botanic Gardens.

Apartment is clean and neat, and has a great cooking space with a well-stocked cupboard.

A perfect base for a long weekend in Melbourne.

  • This apartment is beautiful. Very large with everything you could require for your stay. The area is obviously very affluent which leaves you feeling safe wandering about during the day and night. The proximity to shops/bars/restaurants and most importantly the excellent tram system is fantastic.
The host David was waiting when we arrived, helped my husband with the bags and provided us with large amounts of useful information. The breakfast items provided are excellent.
We did have a quite serious issue on our first night and did feel that the hosts response was inadequate however the issue sorted itself and we fully enjoyed the rest of our stay.
Melbourne is a fantastic place to go however the flies ruin it. So if i have any advice to give it would be make sure you go in a month that has less flies, its disgusting.
    I would recommend this apartment.

  • We have stayed here many times and enjoy the flat and neighborhood more each time.

  • The house that David has for his guests is fantastic. When we arrived to his place in the South Yarra area of Melbourne, he came out to greet us and was kind enough to assist us with our things upstairs to his house (condo). The house was exactly as advertised and looked the same and often better than the pictures on the website. Once we settled in, David explained things around the house and has a booklet outlining the area and how to get around. What we really liked was the fully functioning kitchen as well as the washing machine, which we used often. Traveling with my 75-year-old mom, the house was perfect being two bedrooms and two baths to give us both the ease to get ready each day on our own timetable. We were there to attend the Australian Open tennis, and you have two easy choices from this location, walking or taking the tram (trolley). Since my mom has issues with walking long distances, the tram was perfect to take into town, and then a free tram ride right to Rod Laver Arena. It couldn't be easier. But we arrived a couple of days ahead of our tennis tickets, and so we took thetime to take in a couple of exhibitions and enjoyed the great restaurants of Melbourne. But what was great about this location was that once David felt comfortable that we had an understanding of his house and location, he quietly left us alone for the rest of our time in Melbourne with contact information if we needed any further assistance. We were easily able to get some food from a small grocery nearby with a 7-eleven that is just down the hill from his place. To take the public transportation, you will need to get a card that you can easily purchase at the 7-eleven and the trolley stops right at your corner when leaving or arriving back. If you are looking for a place that is not your traditional hotel setting but willing to spread your sights to a house setting, I would highly recommend this location. It was everything that was advertised and more. Even my mom commented a couple of days into our stay how much she enjoyed staying there. I have never stayed at a house before, and this was a great first experience and so happy that I picked this house with David as my host. If you're looking for someplace in Melbourne with easy access to public transportation, I highly recommend this location. I think you'll be very glad that you did.

  • Knowing nothing about Melbourne's layout, other than the ever-present Central Business District (CBD) of any metropolis, I selected David's apartment for its appearance and amenities, rather than for its location. Fortunately, I got both the amenities and the location all in one. S Yarra is a stylish and urban neighborhood, with restaurants and shops everywhere--and an easily accessible train station 10 minutes by foot from the flat. The CBD, where the museums, financial center, and shopping abound, is literally two train stops away in one direction, toward Toorak Rd; the beginning of the Royal Botanical Gardens is three blocks away in the other direction, toward Domain Road. One can walk in either direction and be perfectly happy. The flat is indeed quite spacious and ideal for a share, with its two bedrooms at opposite ends and its two baths as well. WiFi worked perfectly, as did the electronics throughout the flat. At bedtime, we took advantage of the portable fans in each bedroom, to mask the vehicular noise from Punt Road, the busy thoroughfare nearby. David stopped in to make certain that all was well and answer any questions we had. He was indeed the model host for Airbnb. In brief, I recommend the place without hesitation and would happily return for a multi-week stay.

  • David was a wonderful host and the apartment was well appointed and had everything we needed. It is very central and easy to get into town and in a great area for restaurants and shopping. It is very spacious and comfortable to live in. Would recommend it highly. Thanks David.

  • Great spot to stay in Melbourne, nice neighborhood and walk to city. Apartment spacious, clean and comfortable with all the little extras such as laundry soap, breakfast food provided. David is available and flexible with check out. We stayed during a record heat wave but the apartment remained comfortable with the help of fans.
