BRAND NEW MATTRESS FOR SOFA BED IN LIVING ROOM DEC/16. I heard what some recent guests had to say and some were saying they found the sofa bed to be uncomfortable. I bought a brand new one so now my guests are happy!
This charming 1871 heritage condo is fully-restored, clean and conveniently located. It is well stocked with essentials (soap and shower gel, TP, food basics, coffee, tea, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, ) in the heart of downtown Ottawa.
CONVENIENTLY CLOSE TO ALL MAJOR ATTRACTIONS and within walking distance of Parliament Hill, the Byward market, the Rideau canal, University of Ottawa, multiple embassies...

- Parking is optional. A parking spot is a 1/2 block away (30 second walk) and is $10 for up to 24 hours per vehicle with in/out privileges. No reservation required.
- mine is a non-smoking, pet-free apartment. Though I accept guests with children, the apartment is not "child-proofed".
You will have full access to everything in the condo. This is your place while you are visiting! Every closet and drawer and cupboard is ready for your exclusive use!

I know that you are visiting Ottawa for a specific reason and that it probably doesn't include socializing with me! But, i want you to know that I am close by if you need anything and I am happy to help...
Walking distance (1-5-10-15-20 minutes) to:
Parliament Hill, Byward Market, U.S. Embassy, University of Ottawa, Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Institute, Rideau Canal, Rideau Centre, National Arts Centre, Ministry of National Defence, Dept of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, DFAIT, DND HQ, 4 live theatres, 1 rep theatre, Strathcona park, 2 large 24-hour grocery stores, liquor and beer stores, restaurants, bars, night life, seasonal markets.
Short drive to many federal government buildings, museums and points of interest in Ottawa and Gatineau including Governor General's residence, 24 Sussex (Prime Minister's residence), National Arts Gallery, French Embassy, British High Commission, Casino Lac Leamy (gambling, shows, and internationa fireworks competitions) and Gatineau Hills (hiking, fall foliage, skiing in the winter and swimming in the summer).
Just a 4 block walk to the express buses that take you directly to Scotia Bank Place for NHL hockey games and concerts (much faster than driving your own vehicle-the buses have express lanes that get you there and back quickly).

Most guest park their vehicle and walk to most destinations. But if you need to travel ouside of the downtown core, transit is readily available.
There are 4 major transit routes steps from the front door that serve Ottawa with connections to Gatineau located three stops away (or a 10 minute walk).
The property has excellent access to the Macdonald-Cartier intraprovincial bridge to Gatineau, highway 5 north and 50 east. It is also a 7 minute drive to the 417 Queens highway.
Other things to note
Within walking distance of the university of Ottawa.
Check-in is anytime after 3:00 pm. Check out is anytime up to 11:00 am. I am not able to store luggage before check-in time or after check-out.
The condo is NOT for parties, get-togethers, stags, bachelor/ette gatherings, prom nights, dinner/cocktail parties, etc. The number of people in the home at any time must not exceed the maximum number allowed to stay overnight. Anyone found to break this rule forfeits their security deposit.
I ask that our guests be respectful of my home, the furnishings and supplies, and also respectful of my fellow neighbours. Excessive noise will not be tolerated. Quiet time starts at 11:00 p.m. every night. Anyone who ignores a noise warning will be asked to leave immediately, which will result in a loss of the deposit and the nightly fees. I regret having to be strict about the noise level but regrettably some past guests booked in order to party. I have had no issues since I enforced the noise rule.
Please leave the home in the same condition it was when you arrived. Collect up all garbage and recycling and leave in the bins in the kitchen. Please wash your dishes.
Smoking is prohibited inside the building. Anyone who smokes in the building will forfeit their security deposit.
When I travel and stay in private homes I expect to have all the basics available (like spices, coffee, tea, sugar, bathroom tissue, laundry soap) as well as finding the kitchen to have an abundance of pots/pans, knives, serving bowls, baking sheets, casserole dishes, etc.
Since I have found this is not always the case, I understand how disappointing that can be, so I tend to go overboard and offer everything I can think of!
I am a retired interior designer and a Cordon Bleu grand diplome chef. I have taken my training and experience from these two fields and applied it to offering the best accommodation for my guests, including a well-stocked kitchen! :-))
