The space is beautiful and cozy, great location and Evelyn a fantastic host. I came here with family for a sister's last minute courthouse wedding...the space fit four of us perfectly, the stairs not too steep for my mom's recently operated-on knee, and close to the subway for a jump off to all parts of the city. Evelyn had lovely breakfast supplies for us...overall, we all highly recommend this space!
We had a fantastic time. She was incredibly accommodating of our ever-changing arrival time. She was kind, gracious, and still gave us plenty of space.
The apartment itself is enormous by NYC standards -- a true 2 bedroom. The kitchen and bathroom were stocked with all of the basics and beyond. The location is quite convenient to subway.
We travelled from India to attend our daughter's graduation in Savannah, GA. For her after graduation trip, she wanted to go to New York for a few days. We are a family of four adults and we have been to New York, multiple times in the past. In the previous times we had always stayed in one of the Times Square hotels, but this time we decided to stay in Brooklyn so that we would get a chance to enjoy the ambience of this amazing suburb while being able to do a quick commute to the city whenever we felt the need :-) That's how we found Evelyn's listing an AMAZING two bedroom cozy, fully furnished, apartment. We were fortunate that Evelyn could accommodate us on the dates we wanted to be there - 31 May to 4 June 2015. With the confirmation, Evelyn send a very detailed email which covered every possible information we required to comfortably find her place, various commute options, neighborhood dining options, car service and so on on so forth. She also send me a warm personal email sharing her direct contact information. Between the time I made the reservation and we made the trip to US, I emailed her a couple of times and her responses were always prompt, courteous and quick. We were to land into New York JFK on the afternoon of 31 May - unfortunately our flight out from Savannah was cancelled due to severe thunder storms in New York. To cut the story of our nightmarish experience short - we finally went thru our own experience of 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles' and managed to reach New York at 1 AM on 1 June. Unfortunately the vehicle and driver I had arranged to take us from JFK to Brooklyn, cancelled on us and left us stranded at an unholy hour and finally after standing in the Taxi line for over an hour, we got a kind New York cabbie who took us to Eveland at Brooklyn. The amazing thing was that, while we were going thru this nightmarish experience, Evelyn was constantly in touch with me to monitor our progress, development at our end etc etc... TILL 2AM ON 1 JUNE, WHEN WE WERE FINALLY IN THE CAB ON THE WAY TO HER HOME. She did not have to do this but then she did because that's the kind of person she is - kind and considerate - and believe me, on that absolutely miserable day, Evelyn's constant communication and cheerfulness was literally our silver lining on all those dark clouds in New York. The apartment turned out to be everything Evelyn had said it would be and we loved every moment of our stay there. She provided us with a very well stocked kitchen with everything required for a full breakfast - but except for making coffee, we just preferred to go out and eat in one of the NUMEROUS dining options that are available...
Evelyn was at home when we arrived and she made us feel very welcome. She took the time to give us a thorough briefing on the apartment. Evelyn was very helpful later when we had difficulty working the TV - an English problem!
No 233 is convenient for the subway and buses; it makes a comfortable and economical base for exploring Manhattan and, of course, Brooklyn. 5th Avenue, a few steps away, has an excellent bagel shop which is great for breakfast.
Our stay at Evelyn's apartment was great. Evelyn was accessible at any time for questions. The apartment is exactly as advertised. A good place to recommend for your next visit to NY.

Thanks to Airbnb, Eveland Bed and Breakfast was born in 2010, me a while before then. I was raised in the island of Puerto Rico and have lived in Brooklyn for over 20 years. Si, se habla mal espanol.
