About this listing
Our house is situated in a popular neighbourhood of the medina. We have been living here for the past 7 years and we will be pleased to help you find your way in this busteling city. One of our rooms we are renting out to guests. This room has got an en-suite bathroom with a toilet and gives out on a large patio full of lush greenery. We will serve you breakfast in the morning and you can use the kitchen facilities if you need.
The rooftop terrace has got sundeck chairs. We will provide you with a housekey so you're free to come and go. There is free wifi available in the house. We will arrange for your airport transfer at the cost of the taxi ( 100Dh)
There is and extra room with shared shower/toilet available at 25 euros.
Our house is in the middle of the labyrint of the medina and is difficult to find. We suggest to make rdv or we can arrange a taxi from the airport.
I'm still thinking about what a great experience I had. They are naturally generous with their time, ideas, and well... you'll see!
Nicolas and Jaques are wonderful hosts, who serve up an amazing breakfast that's tough to beat, in their picture perfect tranquil riad, with green surrounds that include a fountain, and a wondering tortoise or two. Transport to and from arrival points can easily be arranged, and you'll likely be greeted with a map and personalized suggestions.
The clean and large room is well equipped, with nice pillows and towels, a fan, an aircon, brochures and a full ensuite bathroom. Coffee and tea facilities are plentiful and offered freely, as is boiled and bottled filtered tap water and free use of the kitchen. Wifi can be a bit patchy in the room, but is fine in the garden!
The bikes are a great hoot for the brave, and the tour is an amazing adrenalin rush. For those that prefer the walk it's about 20-25 minutes to the square, dress conservatively as you're in the quieter northern part of the medina. The dogs add a great safety factor, and will welcome pats or will be happily ignored.
Nic and Jaques are sweet and welcoming and chatty! Would stay here again.
Nicolas and Jacques made us feel home from the beginning. They have an amazing home, like hidden paradise in the Medina, even more beautiful than in the pictures. Everything went smooth from the beginning, these two are the nicest hosts ever! They gave us amazing recommendations and the possibility to visit Marrakech by bike, we can't recommend it enough to stay at their place. Thank you so much Nicolas and Jacques, we hope the cat found its way back down the tree ;-)
This is the best airbnb we ever experienced, if there were 6 stars they deserved them! To us it felt better than a 5 star hotel, a oase in the medina with so many beautiful places and things. Super tasteful interior, perfectly clean and comfortable, on top the most caring hosts, these two actually made our journey so much better! We cannot thank you enough :)
Jacques and Nicolas have created a small paradise of peace and relaxation right amidst the liveliness of the Medina. The room is everything a traveller could wish for: private, clean, cosy and authentically decorated. I woke up and breakfast was served by the kind house maid, Rachida. The available bikes are big plus to get you around the Medina like a local. Jacques was my host and he took the time to give me a bike tour to get me started, which is super. A warm and kind welcome in this beautiful city.
Nicolas' riad is beautiful!!!! The modern furniture, the rugs, the plant filled open patio with animals included, the primitive decoration, the glass colored windows, i could go on and on... Unfortunately we weren't able to meet Nicolas as he was on vacation but that didn't prevent him from being an excellent host from afar.. He arranged a taxi to pick us up at the airport. He left in charge a nice young lad Abdelfetah who gave us on our first day a tour on bike to show us the important places and how to get back home. We were also taken the first day to meet Ibrahim who was extremely kind to give and explain to us a map of the medina and the gueliz ( the new city). This was extremely helpful and Ibrahim was very generous and kind..Nicolas also left a written instructions sheet with important info and tips. Every morning we had a wonderful breakfast prepared by Abdelfetah or Rasheeda and enjoyed it in the middle of the open patio.. Our room was also great with our own bathroom. The decoration also impecable... It was a oasis inside the medina. We would go out, live the eonderful craziness of the Jemma el Fna and the souks ( markets) and then come to rest to a most tranquil place you would never imagine existed inside the labyrintic derbs (small streets).. Nicolas left everything organized in such a way that we always felt taken care of. Thank you for the great experience!!
A bientôt,
Camille, Julien et Tiphaine
About the Host, Nicolas
We, Jacques and myself live and work in Marrakech for 7 years now. We feel at home in this busteling city and have decided to buy a house four years ago... It is big enough to host people and help them find their way in the crazy medina.
I'm working as an architect and after work and in weekends I love cooking, singing, enjoying opera and go for a walk in the countryside or mountains.
