About this listing
Your private room in charming South Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Williamsburg has been called "the most hip neighborhood in New York." The room is spacious and clean, and the apartment provides a restful respite from the city.
My home will offer you a retreat from the bustle of the city. The apartment is very sunny, spacious and clean. The architecture is pre-war- it boasts details such as arched doorways and crown molding. The high ceilings and layout give it an airy, open feeling unique among New York City apartments. Your bedroom is very large, restful and private. The bed is a queen size platform bed with a memory foam mattress. This is about as comfortable as it gets. The living room is the perfect place to put your feet up after a long day of sight-seeing or working. The kitchen has new appliances- make yourself a great meal while you are here! There is wireless internet, lots of art magazines and books- no TV.
South Williamsburg is a completely charming Brooklyn neighborhood. If the weather is nice, neighbors are often out on the street playing dominoes and chatting. And there are amazing restaurants/ bars/ coffee shops/ boutiques all within blocks of the apartment.
About me: I am an artist and astrologer. I am very considerate and I enjoy keeping the apartment clean and orderly.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I enjoy helping my guests feel comfortable. And I have lots of ideas about great places to visit in Brooklyn! Check out my airbnb guidebook.
You will have access to a lovely kitchen, living room area and full bath. You will share the common areas with either myself or other guests. High speed wi-fi! (Really fast- get all of your work done easily.) We have no TV.
Interaction with Guests
I am happy to give you advice about the neighborhood, or share some tea with you and ask you questions about your hometown. If you prefer rest and quiet time on your own- it's yours. I am a fairly busy New Yorker, so although I will be staying at the apartment while you are there, I may not be around that often. If you would like to plan to have a coffee or drink out in the neighborhood during your stay, let me know! I'm happy to show you around Williamsburg.
The location is incredible- only 15 minutes to Manhattan by subway, 8 minutes by taxi. The apartment is very close to the J and M trains (5 min walk) and the L and G trains (10 min walk). We are located near the foot of the Williamsburg Bridge, so you can easily walk into Manhattan while catching a beautiful view of the city. The East River Ferry is nearby as well so you can easily take a boat into the city or to other parts of Brooklyn and Queens- all for $4!
Most convenient to:

We've stayed for 4 nights in Sandra's appartement. It was a nice appartement with a great bed. We didn't get to meet Sandra but our contact through mail was very good and helpfull.
The appartement is close to the nice shops and restaurants in Williamsburg, only a short walk, and maybe 5-10 minutes walk to subway.
Sandra was very flexibel with our luggage, we could leave it on our day of checkout in the appartement. We really enjoyed our stay!
Sandra was a fantastic host. She made it very easy for me to get to the apartment. And she was kind enough to allow me to leave my luggages past checkout time and pick them up before heading to the airport. Unfortunately, I did not get the chance to meet her. Blame the bed for it! I slept so well I could not get out of it! The apartment is ideally located to either wander through Williamsburg or catch the J train to Manhattan.
Sandra was a lovely, warm and extremely helpful host. She had an amazingly friendly and flexible attitude that makes everything super-easy for you, from the booking step all the way to your leave. Her apartment is very clean and comfortable. She gave me great advise on the restaurants and neighborhood, exactly what I had wanted. I appreciated that I could leave my luggage inside the apartment after the check out hour on a hot summer day! Thank you Sandra, it was truly a pleasure to meet you. I'll be back again if I need a place to stay in NY.
Zuidelijk Brooklyn is moeilijker bereikbaar.
Room as described. Friendly an informative host. Neighbourhood: social, people in the street around the clock. Rough around the edges but safe. Nearby station very convenient.

About the Host, Sandra
Hi! I live and work in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I am an artist and I bartend at a great restaurant in Williamsburg.
I love traveling and I have been very grateful for wonderful experiences and friendships made while traveling overseas and here in the US. I have spent months living in Finland, Estonia, and France, and visited many other countries. I'm taking Spanish classes, and I speak a little French. But not much :)
I enjoy cooking, playing sports, and practicing yoga.
