About this listing
Your private room in charming South Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Williamsburg has been called "the most hip neighborhood in New York." The room is spacious and clean, and the apartment provides a restful respite from the city.
My home will offer you a retreat from the bustle of the city. The apartment is very sunny, spacious and clean. The architecture is pre-war- it boasts details such as arched doorways and crown molding. The high ceilings and layout give it an airy, open feeling unique among New York City apartments. Your bedroom is very large, restful and private. The bed is a queen size platform bed with a memory foam mattress. This is about as comfortable as it gets. The living room is the perfect place to put your feet up after a long day of sight-seeing or working. The kitchen has new appliances- make yourself a great meal while you are here! There is wireless internet, lots of art magazines and books- no TV.
South Williamsburg is a completely charming Brooklyn neighborhood. If the weather is nice, neighbors are often out on the street playing dominoes and chatting. And there are amazing restaurants/ bars/ coffee shops/ boutiques all within blocks of the apartment.
About me: I am an artist and astrologer. I am very considerate and I enjoy keeping the apartment clean and orderly.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I enjoy helping my guests feel comfortable. And I have lots of ideas about great places to visit in Brooklyn! Check out my airbnb guidebook.
You will have access to a lovely kitchen, living room area and full bath. You will share the common areas with either myself or other guests. High speed wi-fi! (Really fast- get all of your work done easily.) We have no TV.
Interaction with Guests
I am happy to give you advice about the neighborhood, or share some tea with you and ask you questions about your hometown. If you prefer rest and quiet time on your own- it's yours. I am a fairly busy New Yorker, so although I will be staying at the apartment while you are there, I may not be around that often. If you would like to plan to have a coffee or drink out in the neighborhood during your stay, let me know! I'm happy to show you around Williamsburg.
The location is incredible- only 15 minutes to Manhattan by subway, 8 minutes by taxi. The apartment is very close to the J and M trains (5 min walk) and the L and G trains (10 min walk). We are located near the foot of the Williamsburg Bridge, so you can easily walk into Manhattan while catching a beautiful view of the city. The East River Ferry is nearby as well so you can easily take a boat into the city or to other parts of Brooklyn and Queens- all for $4!

Sandra was just lovely, as was the room. Exactly as the picture described, light, roomy very clean with a very comfy bed and pillows. On our arrival day she told us to make ourselves feel at home and from our experience, you could tell she genuinely meant it. She was pleasant and respectful and quite thoughtful, even before we arrived in our contact after making the initial booking. No complaints about the flat at all or the neighbourhood, felt very safe and got a really taste of williamsburg. Would definitely recommend, and would book again with Sandra, should we return to Brooklyn.
Thanks for a nice stay Sandra. The room was exactly as described and the apartment was easy to find with the descriptions provided. As was 8 month pregnant and it happened to be hot in New York during my stay, I was very pleased to find a climate control in the room. I also want to mention that Sandra was very helpful with some other question I had, not related to the hosting.
Sandra was most welcoming and friendly when we met but out herself a lot. The apartment is small but bedroom large. The area is authentic Brooklyn a bit edgy but very interesting restaurants bars and shops ,mostly vintage which seems the new thing .lots of young people opening shops.
Sandra has been a great host. Very welcoming and helpful. The three of us (2 parents, 1 toddler) had a wonderful time in NYC.
The apartment was nice, quiet (which is good in nyc) and cosy. Perfect location just off Williamsburg bridge, easy access to subways, citibike and the east river ferry. Lots of good food around. What can I say?!
We would definately do it again!
Polle, Esther & Eise.
Sandra was incredibly accommodating and her space is warm and inviting. I've never rented a shared space before and we weren't quite sure how that would feel, but we felt right at home with all of the privacy we could need. The location is amazing!
Sandra made us feel very welcome and was really helpful with local info.
The room was just as described, with plenty of storage for our stuff and a comfortable bed.
The neighbourhood could not be more convenient, for access to Manhattan, restaurants, bars and has a real local feel.
I hope Sandra's still doing Airbnb next time we're in New York!

I love traveling and I have been very grateful for wonderful experiences and friendships made while traveling overseas and here in the US. I have spent months living in Finland, Estonia, and France, and visited many other countries. I'm taking Spanish classes, and I speak a little French. But not much :)
I enjoy cooking, playing sports, and practicing yoga.
