It was our first rented flat with airbnb and the Appartment of Chris was great! It was a very pleasant stay. The matrace was soooo comfortable!
Staying in the studio apt of Chris was a great possibility. The location is really good, the entrancy has a very authentic, local vibe. This is both tourisme and local life combined. We already miss it after two days in a ***hotel. We had lugguage problems with a delayed and a broken suitcase at arrival. We where really good taken care of. Our biggest recommendation is our longing for living there again for longer.
This clean studio has everything you would need and you can't beat the location, right by Ben Thanh market. We were so happy to come back from noisy and boisterous Pham Ngu Lao. There's a great bar at the corner perfect for people watching.
We got the authentic local feel with a great workout by going up 3 flights of stairs to the studio. The entrance is an alley not far from the street and the neighbors are friendly. Definitely take advantage of Lam's services. He's super kind and helpful and a warm welcome after long flights when you just don't want to think.
The location is superb, and the value was good. Everything is walkable. The bed was clean. For a short-term stay, the price was right and what else could one need? If you've never been to Vietnam, it is certainly also an ideal place to stay.
Chris will likely have you arrange your arrival and communications with Lam, his local English-speaking and fast responding property manager. If you have any questions or problems, he will be all over it quickly at any hour of the day, so don't hesitate to give him a call. I saw this arrangement as a positive thing due to the attention Lam will be able to give you.
They may offer you optional services, and my experience with them has been extremely positive. If you've never been to Vietnam before, for less than the cost of a few Starbucks drinks, Lam will meet you at the airport with a sign with your name on it, and have a good taxi driver with a late model SUV vehicle (and working meter!) take you back to the apartment. I highly recommend this service.
Yes, there is stairs as others have mentioned.. A bit of a surprise, but despite being grossly out of shape myself, I found them a non-issue.
Overall, very satisfied and would stay again.
Right by Ben Thanh market, 15 minutes walk to Bui Vien street and tons of health clubs, massages and restaurants around the area!
Everything was as expected and more. Chris-although I never met him-did his best to make our stay in Hochiminh great. Responded to my emails fast, and gave me a info packet that helped navigate the city. I'm sure if I needed his help with anything, it would have been great.
The apartment was clean, with everything described in detail. The cold beers in the fridge (which he said was a welcome gift :) was great after carrying luggage up three flights of stairs, the only "bad" thing I can say about the experience (but I digress, I'm the one out of shape, and it only needed to go up once). Seeing how locals lived and talking to a few of them was a great addition to living there.
The place is centrally located in the middle of everything, pretty much no more than a 10-15 min walk to see most major sites, and you can get everything you want within a block of it. Bed was soft, a sea of pillows to use, with towels and even shampoo, body wash, and hand soap to use!
I would definitely stay there again if I visit in the future. Top notch!
We were three people in Chris' flat for a long weekend and had an amazing stay. The flat is perfectly located in the city. It is clean, there's WiFi, comfy mattresses... what else would you need? It has that local feel that you don't easily find in hotels.
Special mention for the service that Chris and Lam provide, answering questions super fast, available by email and telephone, providing a very trustworthy list of things to do and places to go to... they're very helpful and friendly people! I'd definitely stay there again.
Chris was incredibly helpful, fast responding and very friendly. The apartment is truly a local experience in a very central location. The 4 flights of stairs were not an issue at all and the room is big and comfortable for two people.
We've had no issue with noise - the place was quiet, tidy and i will happily go back. Strongly recommend.
Great apartment in the best location in Saigon!
I stayed for 13 nights, with plenty of work to be doing on my computer. I wanted for nothing - the market on your doorstep for food, wonderful I.D. Cafe almost next door for coffee (best coffee shop in Vietnam?) and friendly Cafe 114 on the corner for late night beers and people-watching. I didn't need to walk further than 200 yards for anything!
The apartment is clean, comfortable, has everything within that you need and Chris is invariably efficient. Access, through a little back alley which is full of character (don't be nervous when you first arrive - its absolutely fine!) and the boys who work in the Malayasian restaurant at the bottom of the stair-well are shyly friendly.
It truly felt like 'my place in Saigon'. Great. Thank-you Chris!
Had a great time, there was always some one ready to help. Wil say here again.
