Paris is a romantic city and all its romance is reflected in this lovely little apartment. It has views of quaint rooftops and is beautifully appointed, with an induction cooktop, shower for two and a very comfortable bed. The perfect place to relax with wine and cheese after a day taking in Paris and before heading out for dinner. The
neighbourhood that the apartment is in is so fabulous, we could have spent our entire stay just strolling around it.
We stayed 6 days at michael's apartment and it was fantastic in all regards. Location, service, safety, comfort were all fantastic! The place looks exactly as advertised and the marais is amazing. Michael was prompt in meeting us when we arrived and was easily reachable for any questions we had. I highly recommend this location and host.
The house was amazing and Michael was very kind and helpful. Location also was perfect, would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Paris!
The sense of design, imagination, and talent that went into the creation of this light and airy penthouse apartment in the excellent 4th arrondissement area are evident in every detail. Hardwood floors and exposed beams are beautiful. The high ceiling and skylights, together with the windows that open above the street and well-placed mirrors give the apartment a spacious feel. Every inch of the apartment is so efficiently used to provide guests with every need -- a small, well-outfitted kitchen area (with stove top, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, etc), a nice bathroom with an excellent shower, washer and dryer, table and chairs for meals, reading lights above the bed, and automated black out blinds to cover the skylights at night. Free, super fast wifi was a huge plus. An air conditioner (which we did not need but would have been crucial on the 100 degree days in July), and an elevator in the building were welcome modern conveniences. Small items like a converter, a hair dryer, a box of walking architectural tours, and a corkscrew were additional thoughtful touches.
Michael communicated with us in advance to make meeting plans, met us on time at the apartment, and gave us a run-through of all the apartment's amenities and the highlights of the neighborhood. He took extra time to make a taxi reservation for us for the day of our departure. He also provided a comprehensive and informative notebook in the apartment describing all the features of the apartment as well as high points of the neighborhood and recommended restaurants. He provided a lovely bottle of wine and a fresh bouquet of flowers as welcome gifts, in addition to coffee, tea, and breakfast treats in the kitchen area and great quality soap and shampoo in the bathroom.
The location of this apartment simply cannot be beat. Many restaurants and shops are available on the street itself as well as the surrounding area -- a convenient walk to Pompidou, Place des Vosges, and Notre Dame, among other locations. All the shops on the surrounding streets are open on Sundays as well, which seems to be unusual for Paris.
If we get the opportunity to return to Paris, we will undoubtedly check with Michael to see if his property is available as a first choice. For a couple, this apartment is the best!
We really enjoyed our stay. It was our first time experience with airbnb and Michael, being a superhost, put the bar really high for anywhere else we will go :) He was very professional and very kind to wait for us in the flat till late in the evening, when our flight was delayed. A bottle of wine was a nice touch:)
The flat is decorated with taste and mirrors on both walls give an impression of more space. The flat is more like a hotel room with a cooking corner than an apartment where someone lives in on regular bases. Its tiny, but if you don't live in Paris you are just not used to that. Nevertheless, we found everything we needed in Michael's studio and it was a much better choice than a hotel.
The neighbourhood was very lively, full of little shops and tourists. It never sleeps:) The great feature in the apartment are sound proof windows. I think its a must in flats facing a busy street like here. When we closed them it was amazingly quiet!
I can highly recommend Michael's flat! Great host, great place.
Michael, the host, was really great and helpful with settling is and made me feel welcomed. The apartment was light and really clean with a lively bottle of wine on arrival. The perfect host.
Michael was warm and attentive from the moment we met him outside his gorgeous penthouse in The Marais. The apartment had beautiful views, slick modern appliances and a ridiculously comfortable bed which made for a perfect weekend getaway. His suggestions for food and neighborhood sights were spot on and made our stay even more pleasurable. In addition, Michael went out of his way to accommodate our late check out, which sealed the deal on how great this rental was. Cannot wait to return on our next trip to Paris!
