This is a unique place to stay, a beautiful garden outside, a house full of souvenirs and details inside. Wonderful hosts and a amazing breakfast = good memories & feelings.
Thanks Simon!! . Really nice Ullapool , your house, the atmosphere the breakfast and the conversation....
If you are looking for a conveniently located, homey, and family-centric place to stay in Ullapool, this is the place for you. We had too little time to fully appreciate the place but can certainly see how Simon and Co. are an integral part of the community and this can add a different component to anyone's experience. Cheers to Simon and family for opening their home to the traveling world.
What a fascinating little spot this is! Love Ullapool and the view of the harbor. This house is a delightful "gap" in the broad smile of Ullapool's shore street of fairly uniform buildings. People look up at it curiously as they walk by. It has a folly of a front garden with a flight of steps up to the door (don't let the ducks out of the gate), or you can enter from the lipstick pink back door at the level of the next street. Inside, there's an intriguing assortment of furnishings and knick-knacks. The house and its decorations feel a bit as though they sprouted from the hillside organically bit by bit. The dining room feels a bit like a treehouse, and downstairs you fall asleep to bird song. If you like cookie-cutter white box lodging with everything just the way it is at home, this is not for you. Otherwise, I recommend it!
