Single room with two spacious drawers under bed, single wardrobe, blanket box, locker and three deep storage drawers
I love to welcome foreign visitors to my home, which is warm and comfortable, and has an enclosed back garden with a lawn, pond and shrubbery as well as seating areas.
I'm within 7 minutes' walk to public transport (bus or train) and the coast, where there are lovely walks. My home is six miles from Dublin city centre, which is 15 minutes away by train and I'm close to all public amenities. There's a small shopping centre with all essentials just 2 minutes' walk away. The neighbourhood is quiet and the neighbours are friendly.
I live 20 minutes' drive from the airport, making it an ideal location for a stopover on the way to or from the airport.
I enjoy walking, cycling, cooking, having friends over, reading, board games, cinema and theatre. I have a long-standing ambition to take dance classes and this year have added Spanish classes to my bucket list ... one of these days!
No curfew but please be respectful of others after 11pm
Well.... how can words describe a simply unforgettable stay. Let's start with the more than truthfull description of the house. Everthing was perfectly fine and clean. The DART Station is easy to reach within a 6min walk ( even in 4min when you're like me late every time). The shops are just cross the street and offer everything for your daily shopping.
The area is lovely and near to Bull Island. The neighbours are very friendly and helpful.
Ruth is the most gentle person I've ever met. She's simply wonderful and I spent the most fantastic time in her house. I found a friend for a lifetime in her.
If you want to have a perfect stay in Dublin, don't hestitate to book.
Thanks so much Janine, I absolutely loved having you to stay and enjoyed your company very much. You brought so much life and laughter to my home during the past five months and I enjoyed all our chats and musings on life. Sorry I got delayed in leaving you a review, going to try and do it now ... a little late!
Ruth was so adorable, very kind and she helped to manage our trip in Ireland. Her home was very confortable, clean and charming. The neighborhood is really peaceful and every public transport is near (about 5 minutes by walk for Dart and the bus). We enjoyed staying there one week and surely going to come back the next time we'll be in Ireland. Thank you so much Ruth for this great week in Ireland.
Staying here felt like I was at home, even better in fact. Ruth is so warm and welcoming and is incredibly helpful. The location is great! Close to the airport (15 minutes) and well as the city center (15-20 minutes) easy to get to the city center from here, its very close to the train (DART). Her home is lovely. The room I stayed in was comfortable, clean and spacious with lots a storage. I would definitely stay here again and look forward to returning to Ireland.
Ruth was a helpful host from the moment my booking was confirmed. The room I stayed in was clean, comfortable, and had plenty of storage space. Public transportation was easily reached and Ruth was helpful in making sure I knew how to get where I was going. She made sure I felt as if my home were my home also. There was a variety of items made available for breakfast and the kitchen was at my disposal. The bathroom available had plenty of hot water which was such a relief after days of walking around Dublin. During my stay Ruth checked to make sure I wasn't in need of additional bedding, clean sheets, or towels. On a few nights we were home at the same time for dinner and Ruth was great company and a friendly conversationalist. When I prepared to leave Dublin she even arranged my cab to pick me up and saw me off. She was such a nice host. I was traveling abroad alone for the first time and was in Ireland for 8 days. A big part of my stay was being at ease, knowing I had a safe, quiet, and comfortable place to return to in the evening. I would totally stay with Ruth again and can't wait for another chance to return to Ireland. THANK YOU Ruth!
Thank you Star! I'm so sorry I got very busy and accidentally missed the deadline for leaving you a review. But I really enjoyed hosting you and getting to know you during the time we got to spend together. Hope all goes well with your return to teaching and that you do get a chance to visit Ireland again :).
Ruth is a really nice and friendly person! She did everything to make my stay as pleasant as possible and helped me a lot finding the interesting place in and around Dublin. The house is great place to stay, as it really provides a warm and relaxing atmosphere with a small, but lovely garden. Its location is perfect for visiting Dublin by taking the DART train (20 min to the center), but also for discovering some of its surroundings (e.g. Howth or nearby Saint Anne's Park and Bull Island). To sum up, I would always stay with Ruth again and I appreciated to spend time in this friendly home.
ruth is a very nice, kind and welcoming person! the house is really beautiful, well organised and silence! I really relaxed myself and have nice time! I would suggest to stay here!
I had a lovely stay there. Ruth is a very nice and caring person who always makes sure that her guests are fine. When I made a mistake with my booking she let me stay for another night without charging me for that and she helped me to move to my new accomodation the next day.
The place is great. There is a supermarket around the corner and it is close to the train station so you can get to the city centre quickly. There is a nice little terrace where I could have a cigarette in the evening and chat with the other guests who are very nice and open-minded people as well.
I was born and raised in Dublin and although I really enjoy travelling and experiencing other cultures, it's always good to come home again. I love spending time with friends and family (including my ten nieces and nephews), walking, cycling, travelling, reading, movies, theatre, cooking, trying new things, and hosting international guests. I look forward to welcoming you to my home :)
