About this listing
Welcome to Alice Inn, a cosy micro-boutique bnb concept.
Alice Inn has a selection of private apartments and rooms available for short or long term rental. Check out my other listings!
This apartment is on the first floor of a renovated neoclassical townhouse, and includes free use of the main sitting and dining rooms. You can enjoy the books and gramophone, and meet the other guests if you wish.
The apartment consists of a main bedroom (with double bed) , bathroom and a small side room that can easily be used as an extra bedroom (fold out bed), office or dressing room.
There is a small tea cupboard in the hallway, with coffee and tea, cutlery and a mini fridge. (If you are feeling adventurous and want to cook something awesome you are free to use the main kitchen on the ground floor).
We are located on a quiet little street, very close to Syntagma square and the Acropolis (less than 5 minutes by foot). The neighborhood is Plaka, the most charming quarter of central Athens, full of historic monuments, shops, cafes and restaurants. These include the Acropolis Museum, monument of Lysicratous, Temple of Zeus and Hadrian's Library, to name but a few...
It is easy to get around Athens from here, either by foot or using the nearby metro and bus system. Coming direct from the airport takes less than 1 hour door to door, and you can get to/from Pireaus port in even less time.
The style of the apartment is eclectic: Deco, Pop, Bohemian and erm, super funky :)
Below is a list of all the services included in the price:

Use of washing machine

Alice Inn was a great stop in Athens. John is a wonderful host and very helpful. He goes out of his way to make your stay comfortable and the breakfast included was a real bonus!
It is nice and close to all attractions so it made for a very convenient spot to get around on foot.
Such a lovely inn and host. John was incredibly helpful sending us a guide to the city in advance and organising taxis for us.
The accommodation was beyond nice. Tastefully decorated, incredibly clean and everything included...even a tasty breakfast with fresh orange juice. Someone even cleaned our room and made our beds during our stay...no ordinary Airbnb!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Alice Inn, and hope to return myself. I was sad to leave.
The room was clean, spacious, and fresh looking, and John was an excellent host! The location was really great, and lots of things were within decent walking distance.
John's recommendations for food, drinks, and places to visit were spot-on, and I personally would recommend Rakomelo (a super yummy honey alcoholic drink), and the open-air outdoor theatre nearby that is open at nights (English with Greek subtitles)! The Stadium is about 10-15 minutes away, and also nice to visit, much less crowded than Acropolis, and much more satisfying.
The rest of the common areas in the house was very cosy and as we had a lot of time in Athens, I was perfectly happy with spending the time just chilling with my laptop.
Great place, and I can only see it getting better! Thanks John ^^
The host was helpful, welcoming, and generous. While our room didn't quite look like what we expected, the apartment is spacious, warm and clean. The neighbourhood is within very easy walking distance to the train and tram services, the Acropolis, the beautiful Athens public gardens (which you will find teeming with pleasant geriatrics and kids), and a variety of cafes and restaurants. This is a really lovely and homely space with lots of character and a lovely garden space, planned for full use this summer. We had a wonderful stay.
Alice Inn was comfortable, clean and amazingly close to the Plaka and Parthenon.
The room was on a street just off the Plaka, so was quieter than other places but only a 1 minute walk from everything. The shared spaces were on the main floor and the apartment one floor up. The two bedrooms, small kitchen and spacious bathroom gave us plenty of room to relax and a nice area to hang our laundry. The main bedroom windows opened to a pretty street view and wonderful cool breezes.
John was fantastic, sharing his insights to the area in convenient PDF form, carefully mapping out routes we were unsure of, and even walking us to a good restaurant for our first evening.
We loved staying at the Alice Inn, and would happily stay again!
