St. Augustine, the oldest city in Florida, is only 35 miles south of Neptune Beach and a great place to walk along cobblestone streets, enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride or spend the afternoon at the Alligator Farm and look up! A variety of birds may be seen in the trees above the alligators, building their nests, feeding their chicks and some of us have been lucky enough to actually watch them hatch! Great for photographers!

  • Marsha was absolutely lovely! She was very accommodating to our last minute request and easy to work with. The place is quaint and feels like home. You get an entire downstairs to yourself far removed from her bedroom, so there is a lot of privacy and you don't feel like you're being invasive, although she is incredibly friendly and welcoming! She offered coffee, tea, and breakfast foods in the morning, which we weren't expecting, and also treated us to some wine that her friend produces in California! The screened in porch is excellent for relaxing and listening to summer night sounds. She is a great host and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay, including beach chairs, towels, bikes, and a cooler. We'll definitely be staying here when we come back through Jacksonville!

  • This house was surrounded by beautiful greenery which gave the feeling of being in a tree house. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and there was a private screened porch in the back where we could sit and listen to the frogs and crickets in the evening. Marsha was gracious and friendly and had coffee, tea, fruit and bagels available for us. She even printed out maps for us when we told her where we planned to visit. We had a great stay and would stay here again.

  • Marsha's spot is wonderful house located in a suburb close to Neptune beach. My girlfriend and I stayed for the weekend and then I stayed a few extra days on my own. The host herself is a pleasure to be around and gave us tons of useful information on day outings and great restaurant suggestions. Will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in town.

  • I found both Marsha and the accommodations charming. Staying there was fascinating for me because graduated from the local high school when most of Neptune Beach was undeveloped. Now her house sits on the edge of the San Pablo River in a very nice secluded neighborhood.

Marsha is a very pleasant and helpful person, a good hostess.

  • Marsha's place was terrific, and we had a great time getting to know Marsha. The house is about 2 miles from the beach. It's a quick drive, and Marsha leaves bikes in case you'd rather ride. The house itself is a perfect setup for one or two guests. You get a full downstairs area--bedroom, outdoor porch, small living room, private entrance. It's a good amount of space, and it's all very well kept. We especially liked the outdoor porch, which we ate dinner on.

Marsha is a very kind host. We talked for a while about our travels, and she gave us some good recommendations for our trip north. We'll plan to stay with her the next time we're in Neptune Beach.

  • Had a wonderful time staying in Marsha's beautiful home. My only regret is not spending enough time on her incredible screened-in porch -- shade, candle-light, a bubbling fountain and wildlife. The beach was an easy bike ride away, too. Definitely hope to return! Thanks, Marsha!

  • Marsha is a terrific host! Located in Neptune Beach, her home is in a terrific spot that allowed us to visit Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and up the coast to Amelia Island with ease. The screened in porch looks out over the beautiful natural yard and is a terrific place to relax.

  • The Comfy Neptune Beach Tree House was a great part of our first anniversary trip. The house is very quaint and really does remind you of a tree house. The neighborhood is quiet - we didn't hear the neighbors or a passing car despite sleeping with the windows open. Unfortunately, we did not have the pleasure of meeting our hostess (Marsha's friendly neighbor, Ed, gave us the official tour and recommended a great local place to eat dinner), but she had the house all ready and clean for us. I would definitely recommend staying at the Neptune Beach Tree House!

  • Marsha was a welcoming and helpful host and her set-up is really nice. There is a private bedroom, bathroom, sofa area and outdoor porch and we used her kitchen.
The house is about 2 miles from the beach and stores etc. so we used her two bikes to get around and go to the beach every day. With a car you could go anywhere!
No complaints, it is a great little getaway!
