Any person who have stumbled upon this AirBnB must be wondering why the reviews are so mixed(Some good and some not so) right? Well the truth is this accomodation has lots of flaws but it has its pros as well. First of all this is not a Homestay AT ALL. When we signed up for this we were expecting at least some sort of personal experience with Anh Son, being able to chat with him or interact with a Hanoi citizen. Unfortunately, we did not even get to see Anh Son himself and we only met his receptionists. This is a hotel stay, just like any hotel you can find while walking in Hanoi, and its definitely cheaper to find one when you are there. Secondly, the pictures are a FAR CRY from what the rooms really look like (its probably filtered and enhanced and photoshopped to look like that). The toilets are really really reaaaaaally small and cramped up, and the worst of all it that the jet of water coming from the shower can be described as a trickle and you need to play around with the tap to figure out how to "summon" the hot water (in short, its faulty). The bed is super thin and hard, woke up with aches all over. Thirdly, there are a flight of stairs to climb before you reach your room so if you cant climb stairs or have any heavy baggage, good luck! Fourthly, if you stay on the second floor (room 202), be prepared to get annoyed by the church bells which sound like every 15minutes but if you go to the fourth floor (room 401) you suddenly cannot hear it anymore. Alright that is all for the bad points so now for the good points: It is located in the old quarter so its a stone throw away from night market and Hoan Kiem lakes and central so you could just walk there (you might get stopped for Marijuana but thats pretty normal). The aircon is working and the hot water (sort of) and flush are all working. The receptionist is quite friendly so as long you dont talk about money or try to haggle with them. The Ha Long tour was safe and smooth but we paid 38USD each for it while people on our same boat paid only 20USD each so i suppose we got scammed by Anh Son. They provided us a free map of Hanoi which aided us alot but i guess (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps would do fine too. I fell ill during my second day there but I checked out in the morning and when i returned in the afternoon they still charged me 100k dong for my 6 hour sleep there even when my checkout was on the day itself and the timing was flexible (technically i should still be considered staying there). The private car we paid 15USD for was reasonable. Decide for yourself if you wanna stay here.

The room is expensive compared with what you can get around the area, all places in the area include breakfast for the same price or less. Beds are really hard to rest, not comfortable at all and there's not enough water to get a proper shower.

Location is good since it's within the Old Quarter and walking distance from most tourist spots. Room is spacious and owner is very accommodating and can arrange all your travel concerns.

The place is as advertised. Budget accommodations in Hanoi's old quarter. The receptionist was extremely gracious as we were there for the Vietnamese New Year celebration, and provided a feast of traditional Vietnamese food on New Year's Eve. Thank you so much for including us in your festivities.

There were three people who accommodated us during our stay and they were all pleasant. I actually forgot to inform our host that we'll be arriving late but when we got there, we weren't asked too many questions regarding the delay. The listing was a small hotel; one of our hosts had to process our passports first before we got into our room. This was quite a bummer since we had a long day; fortunately, they offered us water while waiting -- which was nice. :) People who like exercise and spiraling staircases may wish to stay on the third floor up. Otherwise, ask the host to place you on the lower levels. ;)

We had a great time in Hanoi. The hotel is in the center of the city (lot of bars and restaurants very near). We had a great room, very big and clean for the room. The service was also excellent.

We felt disappointed with the room, especialy for the lack of warm water. The staff were kind and helpful. While we found a much better hotel in the same price nearby.

Hello ! My name is Cao Anh Son!

I was born in Ha Noi city,Vietnam. I work for Hoang Khanh Travel in day time. Hotel & travel is my business. Since 2010s,We open the first mini hotel in Hanoi named Home Hotel in order to have place to anyone.

Now I own both Home Hotel and Home apartment. Both of them are located in the central of Hanoi old street quarter, It is just a stone’s throw from St. Joseph's Church (Cathedral) on quiet Tho Xuong street. This convenient location allows you to be just a 3 minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, Vietnam Airlines booking office & Quang Trung bus stop (for service to Noi Bai International airport). You can get to all the famous travel points, restaurants (all European, Asia and famous traditional Vietnamese restaurants), craft shops, pubs and art galleries,... as soon as you step on to the main road.

Doing business in hotel & travel is my hobbies, I will make my hotel to be a great hotel as a present to all.
