I can see Light Rail Transit (LRT), UofM West Bank Campus & DT Mpls from my 2nd flr apartment windows. I am near Augsburg University and Fairview Hospital. My apartment is a centrally located, culturally diverse alternative to Downtown Minneapolis. Steps to restaurants/bars/shops!
My place is cozy and clean, and I put a lot of love into it. I want you to have a great stay in Minneapolis! I have 2 apartments in the same building. Please visit my profile for my other listing!

The space
Each apartment has its own entrance, so you will not share a hallway with other residents.
TAKE NOTE: there are 22 stairs to get the the apartment. This apartment is on a busy street in a neighborhood with bars and restaurants. There is significant street noise in the larger bedroom. I lived here for 8 years and it never bothered me but I also grew up on a busy city street. I have provided a small white noise machine and ear plugs, if needed. The back smaller bedroom is quieter. This is a turn of the century building that has seen many inhabitants! It was originally built to board lumber mill and brewery workers so the apartments were split into many smaller rooms. I played off the vintage vibe with my own collection of furniture and contemporary art. I use memory foam mattresses for their antimicrobial properties as well as comfort. My apartment is 1 of 3 apartments on the second floor above a bike shop. It is on the corner of the building so it has windows on 3 sides. Each apartment has its own back door and we share a front entrance. Each apartment has its own back door and we share a front entrance. I have 2 private bedrooms on each side of the apartment- one small with a full size bed and 1 large with a queen size bed. If you are 2 couples or 2 people, the apartment will accommodate you comfortably and with a fair amount of privacy. If you have kids, 3rd wheels, or are a large group, there is a single day bed with single pull out trundle that can sleep 2 more people, the the French doors on both ends can be closed to make a private bedroom. I have a free parking pass for the pay lot across the street. You have to hang it from your rear view mirror and then return it to the apartment when you leave. It is really hard to replace so please do not forget to return it!
UPDATE: My apartment is a Pokémon Go Poké Stop if you have any obsessed gamers in your group!

Where you’ll be

Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States

The neighborhood is very multicultural and has been an immigrant neighborhood since the turn of the century. There are many bars and restaurants so the neighborhood stays up late. Bars close at 2am in Minneapolis. This is not a sleepy, quiet place. This is one of the most unique neighborhoods in Minneapolis because if its mix of bars and ethnic restaurants as well as its history of immigrants, hippies, punk rockers and bicycle culture. This is a part of the city close to downtown and has many people in it from all backgrounds, income levels, ages and walks of life. There is The Red Sea (Ethiopian Bar/Restaurant) across the street. On the same block as my apartment, there is May Day Books (an activist's book store) Midwest Mountaineering (Outdoor Activities store), Hub Bike Shop, Acadia "No Crap on Tap" bar/Restaurant/venue music, a drug store and a minute clinic. Within walking distance is Hard Times Cafe (vegan/vegetarian greasy spoon), Lucky Dragon (Chinese Restaurant), Malabari (Indian Restaurant), The Wienery (Hot Dog joint), Palmer's Bar (my favorite bar, with live music, and recently voted Best Bar in America by Esquire Magazine), Depth of Field Futons, Triple Rock Social Club, the Southern Theatre, Theatre in the Round, Mixed Blood Theatre, The Corner Bar, Republic Bar and Restaurant and Town Hall Brewery and Restaurant.

I like to travel and love meeting travelers. I am originally from St. Paul but moved to Minneapolis while attending the University of Minnesota and have never moved back! I have lived in Wisconsin, Germany, Australia and Papua New Guinea. I have travelled to Morocco, Mexico, Cuba, Canada, Italy, Croatia, France, Thailand and China. I am a tidy guest and care about the impression I make. As a host, I hope your stay will be comfortable and you will enjoy what the Twin Cities has to offer! I like anything creative and colorful. I have a houseboat and make jewelry in my spare time:) I am a Realtor so if you are interested in buying in MN, I can send you in the right direction!
