Our flat is located in the village of Porthtowan, a cove on the dramatic Atlantic coast of Cornwall. Porthtowan is in the World Heritage area between St.Agnes, Redruth and Portreath, as a resort there something for everybody; it has wide golden sands, spectacular sea & surf, rock pools, towering cliffs and a tidal swimming pool. There is also cliff walking, cycle trails and horse riding nearby. The Altantic waves make the beach a popular surfing destination and there is a surf school situated in the village. Porthtowan is a Blue Flag beach and is attended by RNLI lifeguards throughout the holiday months. Children play all day on the sand dunes overlooked by the flat and there is a river with little bridges and a playground close by. The flat is part of a complex of 20 flats built about thirty years ago, which also contains the renowned 'Blue Bar' bar/restaurant, an ice cream parlour, surf board & wet suit hire, beach shop, cafe and hair/beauty salon. The sunsets are stunning viewed from the terrace of the Blue Bar, or indeed from the balcony of No.12 Seaspray.

Couldn't recommend this place more!!! You'll never find anything this close to the beach on Air BnB! The house is lovely, spacious and very well equipped. The under-floor heating is unbeatable and there's great artwork on the walls. You don't even have to leave the house to enjoy the waves and the breeze, just step out to the balcony! You'll see hundreds of people coming down to the beach and going back home every day, whilst You just simply LIVE THERE! The village is charming, with very friendly and funny locals! There's a bar, cafe, fish & chips, surf shop and a toy store right underneath the balcony. There's even a Pub somewhere with its own 3D surround sound cinema after Your return from one of the amazing walkways along the coast.
The only problem we encountered was: The mattress is so comfortable ; You'll find it very difficult to get out of bed!!!
Highly recommended, ideal for couples and families!
Thank You Anika and Gwith!
We had an Amazing weekend in Anika and Gwith's flat.. Fantastic view and everything we need was there. From the little note on the table to the milk in the fridge, it was just perfect. Underfloor heating is heaven! Many thanks for your quick replies. Porthtowan is nice and close to everything. Will def come back whenever I get the chance to!
This was our first experience with airbnb places and I must say: It was a wonderful experience. We arrived on a quite dull day after a long journey with a very confusing road diversion because of an accident. We were tied, hungry and cold. The apartment was, very clean, warm and cosy and we just felt like at home. the sweets and the Christmas wishes were very welcoming. It was such a lovely place and the sea was there all along. We had a great time there and we want to thank Anika and Gwith very much for this fantastic holiday. Thank you. It was just perfect for us. Carmen and Werner
Evening, we had a great stay in your apartment, loved the views its a warm clean homely apartment and we really appreciated all the extra bits in the kitchen, made are stay even easier, like home from home, we where fortunate the weather stayed dry in the day so we got to see the surrounding areas, St Agnes, St Michaels mount, Landsends etc....
Hopefully we will be back in the spring with our grandchildren
Many thanks Silver
The flat is fantastic with amazing views over the sea in a very lovely cove. The flat has all you need and is very clean, up to date and nicely decorated. Great communication from Anika and Gwith, highly recommend.
The reservation was canceled 223 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Just back from a lovely week in Porthtowen , the flat was in a great location for us to be able to head out and about around Cornwall . We also enjoyed Porthtowen Beach , the weather was a little bracing but the kids had a great time bodyboarding after hiring suits from the surf school . The flat was lovely and clean and the veiw is just perfect , Anika and Gwith were fast to reply to any mails we sent , when in Cornwall we'd all definatly love to stay again , and would recommend it ,thankyou !!! Justine Chris and kids x .
Anika and Gwith were very ooperative and helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much.
We really enjoyed our stay in porthtowan. The apartment was as lovely as anticipated. The directions we were given were clear and easy to follow (even when we arrived late at night). There was even a carton of milk in the fridge to welcome us. The apartment is fully stocked with anything you could need and the underfloor heating is a delight when you come in after surfing in the no so hot sea! There is also the added bonus of a stunning sunset over the sea every night, which you can enjoy from the balcony.
I would recommend this apartment without hesitation.
The view in the picture was exactly what we saw as we walked through the door! We were the envy of our friends for having such a fantastically positioned place to stay. Everything was as described in the flat itself which was very well equipped, the arrangements quickly and efficiently made and the information on how everything worked and where everything could be found was comprehensive. The local shop had all the basics we needed for our short stay and the Blue Bar cafe just below the flat offered excellent food and service in a very relaxed environment.
We would not only strongly recommend the flat but given half a chance would go back again as watching the morning and evening sun set over the sea was special even if the sea is more than a little bracing at this time of year!
