Past tenants give this property rave reviews including Ben and Gloria from Oregon:
"Ben and I had the most wonderful time while staying in " Casita Tranquila." We are into photography and wild-life watching, and I kid you not, we saw the majority of wild-life from Casita Tranquila itself. We saw three sloths, some Costa Rican squirrels, two parrots, four kinds of hummingbirds, toucans, lizards, six different types of butterflies, many other birds in the two week period that we stayed in the casita.
The house was really clean, well kept and stocked with basic things when we got there. We had no problem communicating with friends and family since the WIFI is really good and fast. We felt safe and comfortable while staying at Casita Tranquila, since there is a private gate, caretaker on property and also a safe in the house to put away any valuables. "
'Highly recommended' simply doesn't cut it...the casita was incredible! It is truly magical... clean, peaceful, rustic, safe and oh-so-pretty! It has everything you need. You're in the jungle, but a short walk away from the grocery store and several amazing beaches.
Kate (Willow) is the most wonderful hostess too. She even made me toast and a delicious pineapple dessert when I arrived late in the evening after travelling for over 30 hours! Willow will tell you everything you need to know... the characteristics of each beach in the area, good places to eat, where to get the world's best gelato, what to buy at the farmers market etc. She also introduced me to her friends and took me to see some live music.
Thank you for an unforgettable experience.
I had a fantastic stay at Kate's wonderful casita on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica and Kate was an absolutely fantastic host. Before my arrival she sent me so e really helpful tips about Costa Rica and travel directions to the Casita including pictures. On my arrival she took me to the beautiful beach at Punta Uva and talked me through the different beaches. She took me to a grocery store so I could pick up some groceries and the best place to rent a bike. She made me feel part of Puerto Viejo by introducing me to her friends, taking me to a farmer's market and dinner and music nights in town.
The pictures of the Casita do not do it justice. It is located in a beautiful garden and you can hear the howler monkeys and birds. It is nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed and good kitchen. The view of the jungle from the breakfast bar is amazing.
I have seen comments about the road to the Casita but I had absolutely no issues walking or cycling on the road to the casita.
I really enjoyed my stay at the casita and Kate was a brilliant host and went out of her way to make sure I had a good time in Puerto Viejo
I look forward to returning .
Stayed 28/2 - 5/3
Beautiful, clean casita in a quiet area. Lots of great viewing out the fully opening windows. The rocky road is a challenge for biking but not too far from the main shore road.
We had the most amazing week at Magical Casita! This gorgeous property is a little slice of heaven, and truly felt like a home away from home. Kate was the PERFECT host/concierge/friend and made sure that we had everything we could ever want as well as being a great source of information on the area. We can not wait to go back!
We loved staying at Willow's (Kate) Magical Casita. The name suits it. It was perfect for us and was exactly what we were looking for and more. Everything was close, we rented bikes and it was perfect. There were so many beaches around that were accessible, also good restaurants and pulperias. There were a lot of windows that opened up to the many views of the beautiful jungle and you can hear the howler monkeys nearby-which was very cool. Willow was an excellent host; kind, fun, and knew about everything you could need or would be interested in learning about in PV. We highly encourage people to stay here and would love to stay here again in the future. If you love the beach, the jungle, and a great time- this is perfect for you.
The casita is lovely, tucked up the hill in the jungle a short walk from the beach. The wildlife around the house is stunning, with the jungle right behind the house making is a great spot. Blistering internet, for those of you that care! Very clean. Kate provides a lot of information, making arrival and departure very easy, She is sure to make any problems you may have her priority - she even made us dinner to thank us for a rather hectic night spent kitten capturing... I'm sure she'll tell you all about it if you stay!
Kate's place was great, just as we expected from the pictures. She was a great host, she even invited us to a party one of the nights we were there with some friends of hers from the local community. Can't say enough good things about that area of Costa Rica, either...amazing beaches, scenery, wonderful people...
