Some info has been automatically translated.
"Casa Krill" is a charming and quiet apartment, completely renovated, on the third and top floor of Palazzo Pignatelli di Monteleone - known by the Neapolitans as "O palazz d'ò gas" because it belonged to the family of the famous French painter Edgar Degas - a sixteenth-century building in the ancient center of Naples, in Piazza del Gesù Nuovo, a few meters from Spaccanapoli, the beating heart of the city.
The building is located in an urban pedestrian area.
The space
The apartment, completely renovated in 2022 in industrial style, is very bright thanks also to the west exposure of its windows overlooking Castel Sant'Elmo and the Certosa di S. Martino.
It consists of two bedrooms with a bed - one queen size and one king size - both with a full private bathroom with shower; a large equipped kitchen where there is also a single sofa bed (or a cot); another single sofa bed (or a cot) is located in the king size.
The apartment is equipped with all the comforts: broadband internet connection throughout the accommodation, smart TV in both bedrooms, air conditioning, independent heating, hairdryer, electric kettle, espresso machine, fridge with freezer, etc.
In a common area is the laundry room, with a washing machine and dryer available, free of charge, to guests.
N.B.: to use the elevator on weekdays you need a 10-cent coin, while from 8 p.m. on Friday to 8 a.m. on Monday and on holidays you do not need the coin.

Why "Proximity Tourism"?
The idea stems from the experience in the field of hospitality, gained by the social cooperative "Il Grillo Parlante" since 2004 with the management of the adjacent Family Home for children "CasaBalena".
Through the choice of the form of hospitality, which provides for the presence of a resident family (Valeria, Carmine and Chiara) who assume "parental" and coordination functions, the Cooperative is characterized as an entity sensitive to the dimension of childhood, attentive to the issues of care and protection of minors, but also of the community as a whole.
"Casa Krill" is based on this model, which stems from the need to focus people's attention on the lives of fragile children, to raise awareness and to support the cooperative's social activities with income other than from public clients and private lenders, developing a self-sustaining activity... Casa Krill, nourishment for CasaBalena!
"Casa Krill" is a house that hosts families, professionals, researchers, and artists, who are interested in both cultural and local tourism, or to get to know the stories and therefore the soul of the city, to weave relationships and to participate directly and actively in social experiences.
The value of the proposal consists of a form of tourist and residential hospitality that allows you to live an experience and to deepen contact with other people.
The idea is to expand the fabric of relationships and experiences of guests who will then be able to return to their daily lives with increased sensitivity, humanity and empathy, thanks to coexistence and intercultural exchange. It's the human side that makes the difference.
It is, therefore, a non-traditional tourist proposal, based on sharing and exchange, both with other guests and with citizens, organizations and local realities.

Neighborhood highlights
The most fascinating and interesting neighborhood in the entire city of Naples. Palazzo Pignatelli di Monteleone, the 16th-century building that houses "Casa Krill", overlooks Piazza del Gesù, one of the most beautiful and ancient historic squares in Naples, in the center of which stands the Obelisk of the Immaculate Conception, 22 meters high. In the square, located in the center of the famous street called "spaccanapoli" and directly connected with the ancient decumans of the Greek-Roman era, are the Baroque Church of Gesù Nuovo, with its very particular ashlar façade, and the monumental complex of S. Chiara, with the Gothic-Angevin basilica and the splendid majolica cloister of the 1700s.
The famous street of nativity scenes, San Gregorio Armeno, can be reached with a 5-minute walk, crossing Piazza San Domenico Maggiore and continuing into the ancient center, passing through Piazzetta Nilo (where there is also a famous "Maradona's hair").
At just over 500 meters there is the Chapel of Sansevero which houses the mysterious sculpture of the Veiled Christ and from there, in less than 8 minutes, crossing Naples Underground, you reach the Duomo of Naples with the adjoining Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro.
There is no shortage of museums: a 10-minute walk to the National Archaeological Museum, which houses numerous artifacts from Pompeii and Herculaneum as well as the Farnese collection; in less than 20 minutes, the MADRE Museum of Contemporary Art.
The neighborhood is full of bars, pastry shops, clubs, and restaurants and is the nerve center of the city's nightlife.
Did someone say PIZZA? The real Neapolitan pizza is found here and you'll be spoiled for choice among the best and oldest pizzerias in the city.

My work: Social worker
I am the president of the Social Cooperative "Il Grillo Parlante" in Naples, whose mission is to bring professionalism and innovation in social work in the perspective of building welcoming communities, able to accompany, share, support the lives of people in particular conditions of fragility and disadvantage, in a participatory way with the local partners. The main target is children and families.
Among the main services of the cooperative is "CasaBalena", a family home that welcomes children from 0 to 12 years, which is located one door away from "Casa Krill", the apartment dedicated to local tourism.
"Casa Krill" I manage, on behalf of my cooperative, along with two exceptional volunteers: my husband Carmine and our daughter Chiara!
