First I have to mention that you need to have "LEASE CONTRACT" with me for using Chian.
This old cabin has 2 rooms. One is a 10 Tatami room and the other is a 3 Tatami room.
If you are 2 people, you can use the 3 Tatami room as a private room. The price is 6,900yen/night/room. If you are one person and want to use this room by yourself, the price is 4,900yen/night/room. There is no door but a curtain. For further information about this cabin, please go to "Chian: Timetravel to 100 year old". 10 Tatami room is used as a shared room (if there is another booking) or a living room (if there is an event).
We have electrical carpet, electrical heater, oil heatear and ect. But it's still cold if you come from warm country(no winter).
Heating oil is not free. Usually it costs about 1700yen/18L at gas station. So we need to charge 500yen/3 hours.
If you are not used to sleeping on the Tatami floor or have a backache easily, it may be difficult for you to sleep here. I recommend you to sleep on the bed at hotel. We have only simple Futon.
Using Airconditioning... 300yen/night
Using Washing machine..For free/first time
300yen/2nd time or more.
When you send me a booking request, please mention that you agreed with all the conditions and rules. And if you are with someone, please tell me about him/her.
Curfew 23:00 (Never late)

On your way back to Chian at night especially after 21:00 as we are located in a very very quite area, please do not make loud noise.. It is prohibited to bring strangers(person with no booking) to Chian. Penalty is given: 10,000yen from everyone
Please fill out our booking form we'll send you after you booked or when you ckeck in. (Name, Check-in/out-date, Address, Passport number and etc.) This is for security. Please do not have any people enter into my place without asking me.
There are many rules. If you have a common sence and can respect Japanese culture, I hope I do not have to tell. Anyway all what I want to say to my guests is "Make yourself at home and be one of my family." So try to keep clean all the time as if you were home.
I can hardly welcome these people who ..
1. smoke too much (Simply I do not like it.) or drink too much.
2. party animals (Find a hotel or a hostel in downtown. There are many there.)
3. use "Chian" as a love hotel. (Make sure this place is like a temple. If you need to do something, please also stay at a hotel or hostel.)
4. are not well organised. (I should be very organised as I am always busy. I can not be stuck just for you all the time.)
5. alway play by one's own rules.
If you do not let us know your arival time until at least one day before, check-in won't go smothly. You may need wait for us at least one hour in front of the door.
Tomo is so nice that he help us to rearrange the accommodation for a better experience. We stayed in tomo's home and the Japanese styled room at last. Tomo 's home have so many vintage collections !!! Thanks for preparing dinner for us!!! Everybody just feel free to chat with him, especially who you know Chinese ,because tomo is learning Chinese too!!
We got there when its dark, so its not so pleasant walking in some super tiny alley but the house is the big surprise. Make sure you prepare for it. In the morning, drinking tea in front of the house is the best.
Overall a pretty pleasant stay. Did not interact much with Tomo but had his house to ourselves. It's a small place but has a lot of character.
Awesome tiny old fashioned house near Kyoto. A direct bus connection to the city center is nearby and the house, although old has been made really comfortable. Would definitely recommend a stay here!
Tomo is very helpful and helps us a lot. Thank youuuu. A wonderful place to stay and really enjoyed the place! Stayed only for one night unfortunately... Should have stayed a night or two more!
Tomo-san is a great host, sometimes you wonder how he gets the things arranged but in the end he comes through. He is always willing to help and you can call him anytime. We had a great time at Chian and with Tomo-san, but this place is not for everyone. It is sort of adventurous and if you are used to hotels or staying with somebody in their appartment and would like the same level of comfort this is not for you.
Tomo San was very kind to us. He made sure we know how to get about and even recommended places to go in terms of gaining the most cultural experience in Kyoto. He's quite flexible and we were very comfortable being around him.

Please ask the availability first. Beacause I am too busy to update the calender. Do not send me a booking request without our conversation about the availability.
My name is TOMO. I live alone as I am enjoying freedom in the rest of my life. I like cooking. I'm a great guide and know many local places which are not touristic at all. I play music for fun and love magic trics. If you can play the instrument, let's jam together. I have a guitar, an Organ, a toy piano, a harmonica, an ukulele and a Sanshin(traditional instrument from Okinawa.)
