A comfortable room in my tiny Victorian house in a quiet street in lively East London just 7 minutes walk to Stratford station with its great transport connections. Close to the Olympic Park, Excell, and O2., City and Stanstestead Airport.
The house is an end terrace brick built 19th Century Railway cottage
It is small uncluttered, simple, comfortable and clean. It has nothing fancy but all the basic things, wi fi, washing machine and washing line in the garden.
Your room is upstairs, It is small but it has a very comfortable double bed, washbasin, and storage space.
Downstairs (steep stairs!) is the living-dining room with an open fire, a galley kitchen leading to a tiny garden, the bathroom is also downstairs (shower ) is shared .
I certainly can’t compete with a hotel, the room is small, but it is very clean, the sheets are cotton and will be ironed, the pillows are feather, there are towels, a hairdryer and a universal adaptor..
You will have your own door key so you can come and go any time. There is wi fi. The kitchen is small and not great for sharing but you are welcome to use it to prepare simple meals and snacks. I provide a cereal, toast, tea coffee fruit for breakfast.
You will be my only guests during your stay.
When you arrive I will give you your door keys, show you the ropes- wifi pass words, house eccentricities and local information and leave you to settle in.
This is my home, you will be my welcome guest, I want you to feel comfortable, at
I will do my best to make you feel at home, while respecting your privacy.I want you to feel welcome comfortable while you are are here. I am always happy to spend a little time with my guest swapping stories, and will help out with local information, but I am aware that you are not in London to see me, there is always a lot to do and see here, so when you are home you will need calm and privacy and space!
The area is lively, mixed and changing fast. There are good shops, a multi screen cinema and dozens of places to eat in the new Westfield Center, which I am told is the biggest shopping mall in Europe, There is typical east end market, good local pubs, and little cafe's restaurants on the route from my house to the station.
Stratford station has the Jubilee line and the central line ( 15 mins to the City 20 to Westminster. Docklands light rail- to Canary Wharf, Greenwich -cutty sark and Maratime museum. Overground to Richmond and Kew gardens. Rail to essex and connections to Eurostar.
Thanks to Alison, who (email hidden)e helped with very good advices while our stay. Even we arrived very late we had a warm welcome (email hidden) to stay. The small room was clean and well equipped with a commode, hair dryer, Sink, towels, WiFi code and adapters. The steep staires to the bathroom (toilet and shower) can be mananged. Alison gives small hints on the stairs or the doors which makes things easy.
The area was very convenient with the tube nearby and also a shopping centre and restaurants. We would be very happy to stay with Alison again and recommend to others.
Alison (email hidden), very kind - was such a treat to have home baked bread.
Everything was good about my stay - the location was excellent only 6/7 minutes walk from the tube which means you can get anywhere in London. I had everything I could possibly need, would very highly recommend staying here.
Alison is a very nice, polite and welcoming host. The room is very cosy and quiet. The neighborhood is calm and the location is 10 min. walk from the Stratford underground station and bus stop. Alison always leaves your breakfast on the dining room table and you can have breakfast whenever you want. If we come back to London we will stay at Alison´s house, for sure!
The reservation was canceled 56 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Light, clean, arty home, our host Alison clearly has good taste and knows how to make the best of a small (but very pleasant) home. Alison was very friendly and thoughtful, relaxed and accommodating - preparing a lovely continental breakfast for us each morning.
Nice room, comfortable bed and good shower. Stairs are steep and narrow and the toilet is downstairs, but there is a hand rail and grip tape on the stairs. I coped without a problem at 33 weeks pregnant, so I am sure others can!
Location (10 mins walk from Stratford station) is very convenient and we went in and out of the city centre with ease - about 15- 20 mins on the tube.
We would be very happy to stay with Alison again and will recommend to others. Thank you Alison!
My brother and I bought our parents a surprise trip to London, so it was them that stayed at Alison's place. We wanted to find a place where they would feel safe and at home, and we couldn't have (email hidden)om what they told me, the place is small and cosy, as pretty as in the pictures, with lots of beautiful graphics everywhere. The connections from Stratford Station are great and it took less than half an hour to get from Alison's place to the centre.
About Alison, they said she is a very welcoming, humble and warm person, with many interesting stories to tell. As soon as they stepped through the door, she made them feel like home. I have never met Alison, but I am very happy that my parents have had the chance to meet her. I really recommend this place, and when I go to London someday I'm hoping to be able to book a stay here as well.
Alison is a nice, polite and welcoming host to her cosy house where you will very likely have a good night sleep and a relaxing stay. The neighborhood is calm and the house is easy to reach after a 10 min. walk from the Stratford underground station and bus stop. Alison will leave you breakfast on the dining room table at a time of your choice so you can start your day in London in a good way. The communication was always great and we always felt welcome and had our privacy respected.
lovely little quirky house, good transport wise, very friendly and helpful landlady.
Easy to find and lots of local facilities. Alison looked after me and was very welcoming and great to chat too.
We absolutely love this place! It's cosy, it is -what we would consider (but we may be wrong)- a typical traditional english house in a typical old english neighbourhood, and with easy access to public transportation that will bring you into London. Alison is a kind, engaged, host that makes you feel comfortable in her home.
