If you prefer genuine palaces to anonymous hotels, you will no doubt take your next holiday in a centuries-old riad, right in the centre of Marrakech's old district, the Medina.
These age-old mansions used to belong to Morocco's wealthy families and, for eight centuries, the best craftsmen came from all over the Mediterranean Basin to build and decorate them.
They have now been restored by people from Western countries or Moroccans who fell in love with these garden houses where they will welcome you in the utmost respect of Morocca
Etoile du Sud combines a traditional Moroccan riad with modern amenities near the famous Djemma El Fnâa Square. The rooms are air-conditioned and surround the interior patio.
Riad Étoile du Sud’s rooms are equipped with a private bathroom and sitting area. Some rooms provide free Wi-Fi. The authentic Moroccan details are combined with Andalusian art to create a unique setting.
Etoile du Sud’s restaurant serves Moroccan specialties. The riad has a lounge where guests can relax.
Riad Étoile du Sud’s spa has a hammam and provides a variety of relaxation and beauty treatments.
De staff van Riad star of the sud was great. The decoration very lovely, with romantic candle light in the night. It was very central and still very quiet at night. (No mosque in the nearby neighbourhood !) I would definitely recommend this riad.
Great location, beautiful room and large, tasty breakfast. From the very first night we knew we had made a great choice as we were greeted with Moroccon tea and delicious homemade pastries. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were also genuine and we could feel that they really cared about us enjoying our stay in Morocco.
We would recommend that you bring some warm roomwear if you are visiting in winter since it was a little cold.
Would definitely recommend staying there if you are going to Marrakech.
The Rooms were very nice, and just like you would expect from the Pictures. The staff was friendly and breakfast was good. It's very central and therefor the perfect location to explore Marrakesh for a couple of days.
The room was great, very clean and spacious. Communication with friendly staff was limited but our French was rusty! Breakfast was great with some traditional foods but wasn't clear what could be available. Same goes for spa information, needed a starter pack to be clear of what's available. Great location if you want to be amongst the hustle of Marrakesh!
