Even after work I can go to Port Douglas to shop, and instantly feel "on holidays" There's something about the ocean that does it . I go to Mossman Gorge whenever I can to be in the middle of the Daintree rain forest, its so restoring.

My husband & I recently spent 5 nights in Roger & Wendy's apartment for our 30th Wedding anniversary and it was wonderful. Communication prior to our trip was great and my questions were always answered quickly and efficiently. What a beautiful part of the world, we hired a car which we were really glad we did. It made getting around so much easier. There was no need to join tour groups for Mossman gorge or the Daintree/Cape Tribulation as we drove ourselves and thoroughly enjoyed it. The apartment itself was very spacious and had everything we needed. Wendy had stocked the fridge with breakfast items and the chocolates were a lovely touch. It was great to have the extra towels as well. The views from the window over the pool and restaurant was lovely and nice to look out over while having brekkie. We felt very at home. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay. The Ramada itself was perfect. The pool is very relaxing and the gardens are just beautiful. The staff were also very friendly and 2 happy hours in the evening was a bonus. Port Douglas definitely ticked all the boxes and we will definitely be back again. Thank you for sharing Wendy & Roger, it was the perfect holiday.
We enjoyed our stay. Wendy was very responsive about our booking and detailed with her instructions. She left us some breakfast food (aka dinner since we arrived at midnight and hadn't eaten!), coupons for local dining, and suggestions on local transit and activities. Our stay was near Easter and she also left chocolate bunnies on our pillows! We felt more than welcome and provided for. We had towels for every use (shower, pool, beach), toiletries were supplied, and we were able to access hotel amenities as well. The room was quiet despite its window facing the pool. Bed was comfortable and pillows were nice. This is a family-friendly resort but we two adults didn't feel that disrupted our relaxation in any way. This room was a good value and nice experience!
Just a side note to new visitors to Port Douglas, the restaurants and shops close earlier than you might expect - sometimes earlier than their stated hours - and restaurant bookings are a good idea even mid-week.
Awesome stay for our trip to Port Douglas. The resort is in an awesome setting and not too far by car into town. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We really appreciated the bananas and cereal/milk left for us in the room, it was very helpful upon arrival after flying for 30 hours. We really appreciated the extra things that came with our stay.
Thanks for everything, we would definitely stay here again!
Wendy and Roger's private room at the Ramada was perfect. Pristinely clean and what a great view of the pool area while relaxing on the very large and very comfortable bed! Wendy had some items in the fridge to get us started for breakfast and few a number of guides for tips on things to do in Port Douglas.
I would definitely stay again if I was in town. Their place was just perfect!
We checked into Roger and Wendy's place on the 25th of December and were welcomed with small stockings with chocolate and a fridge stocked with some fresh fruit, bread and other food items. Very thoughtful! The room was comfortable and clean and they provided all the essentials we needed. The hotel itself was in a good location and had a bus that came every 20 to 30 minutes to take you into town. Internet at the hotel was pretty weak however, we found that in all the places we stayed in Australia. At least it was free! Overall we would recommend Roger and Wendy's place to fellow travelers.
We had a fantastic time in Wendy and rogers apartment. The pool area was amazing and the room was great. While the apartment is a little bit outside the town there were regular shuttle buses that you could get in and out from right outside the hotel. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice relaxing break in a beautiful location. Thanks Wendy and roger :)
The hosts, Roger and Wendy, made us feel very welcome. Although we never met in person (respecting our privacy), their emails answered all our questions before arrival and the accommodation was everything we expected. They were only 20 minutes away if we were to need them. This was the final five days of our Australian trip and this resort was a great way to finish.
The resort was well maintained and everything was clean and comfortable. The restaurant beside the pool was excellent and convenient. The reception people were helpful and friendly even though we were there in a private room through Airbnb.
The location is a five minute walk to the beautiful Four Mile Beach but swimming in the 28 degree water was discouraged due to stingers and other unfriendly wildlife. It was a nice 40 minute walk along the beach to the centre of Port Douglas, or the shuttle busses were an easy way to get in and out of town. We spent time hiking in the Rain forrest and snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef and the pool at the end of the day was a great way to cool down and relax after our activities in the sunny 30 degree weather.
We have already recommended this place to our friends and family.
We live in a cottage in the rain forest in the Tablelands and enjoy wood work - carved rocking horses and furniture, gardening and spending time with the grandchildren.
