About This Listing
Modern bedroom with a brand new, supercomfortable queen sized bed is ideal for visitors eager to discover San Francisco or the business traveller. The room has plenty of closet space.
The room has a private entrance on the side of the house (however, in times of heavy rain, I ask people to use my front door because the stairs leading to the room are very slippery when wet). You have the exclusive use of a full bathroom, including hairdryer and towels, down the hall.
There is a Starbucks, Peets coffee, French Cafe or American breakfast restaurant a few blocks away (Laurel Village).
There are a number of excellent restaurants on neighboring Sacramento Street. The popular Fillmore street area is only 8 blocks away and offers many restaurants, bars, live music, and movie theaters.
Street parking is limited to 2 hours Mon-Fri in my neighborhood as it is in many others. San Fransisco is a pedestrian friendly town with an excellent transit system. There is no time limitation on the big block across my flat. Several guest have been able to park on that block in the evenings and leave their car on that block for a couple days.
I have a very friendly German Shepherd who loves guests and befriends them within seconds. However, I can keep her in my room on a different level if you prefer. I have two shy cats who hide from guests.
You are welcome to use the kitchen for any meals. Coffee, tea and fruits are available at any time.
5 bus lines are on the doorstep to take you to Union square, China Town, Fisherman's Wharf, the Marina, Haight-Ashbury and Golden Gate park. You are central to all the great tourist destinations within the city.
You can buy 3 – 7 day bus passes starting at $ 23.00 giving you unlimited access to buses and cable cars. These passes can be purchased at the information kiosk at the SFO Airport or a block away on Geary and Presidio (10:00 am to 4:00pm).
38/38L, to downtown or ocean beach.
43, to Marina (the bay, Crissy Field) or to the Haight.
24, to Castro and Mission (best Mexican and Latin American food in town).
1, to Downtown or Legion of Honor/Lands End
Transportation from SFO Airport:
1) Super Shuttle: http:// (website hidden) /Locations/SFOAirportShuttleSanFrancisco.aspx. The cost is $ 17.00 for the first passenger and $10.00 for the second. Need to reserve at least 24hr ahead.
2) Bart, the train, from SFO to Civic Center, grab bus 38 or a taxi to my place ( +/- $ 22.00)
3) Taxi is approximately $ 65.00 depending on traffic.
This is a non smoking house (and hopefully needless to add a drug free house)
You are welcomed to cook and use my cooking ware, but please clean up after your self.
Please repect the space and the things in it.
Please don't invite visitors (strangers) into the house unless i am present.
Sylvie was a great host. We enjoyed our stay with her very much. She was very friendly and has information on things to see & do in San Francisco, as well as recommendations on many places to eat, including menus, so you can make a choice. Her home is lovely. We had a view of the city from our bedroom window. The room had a built in wardrobe, giving you plenty of storage space, the bed was very comfortable and the private bathroom just down the hall was very nicely decorated and clean. The shower was great. Sylvie's dog was just gorgeous, she was very placid and friendly and always enjoyed a tummy rub. Having private external access to our room, made it very easy to come & go whenever we needed.
We walked and used Uber service to get about. Plenty of nice places to eat within walking distance. The neighbourhood was great and we absolutely loved San Francisco.
Sylvie very kindly let us leave our suitcases in her home after check out time, so we wouldn't have to cart them around with us, as our flight wasn't till later in the day. We would have no hesitation in recommending a stay with Sylvie.
nettes kleines, sauberes, recht zentral, gelegenes Zimmer. Sylvie ist eine gute Gastgeberin. Wir haben alle möglichen Tips für San Fransisco von Ihr bekommen.
It's nice place to stay in San Francisco. With a private bathroom and the possibility to come and leave through a separated door. Just not recommend to rent a car here coz is so hard to find parking place. Really enjoyed to talk with Sylvie. She's a very nice host and gave us many tips for San Francisco visit and also help me to park the car. And also she has a nice dog! If you are planning to visit SF, I would recommend you to choose here!
Good room with TV and comfortable bed; private bathroom just down the hall; access to a great kitchen; a private entrance; and, most of all, a warm welcome from Sylvie. We arrived after a long flight, and she picked us up at the airport and gave us a great introduction to San Francisco, including a tour of some of its districts, on the drive into the city. After that, she was a warm, friendly presence, ready to help whenever asked. The room is well stocked with maps, guidebooks and other resources. The house is in a great location. Not downtown, but near enough if you want to walk (and like 30-40 minute walks), only a few blocks away from the restaurants and bars of Filmore. It’s in a quiet, residential neighborhood, with good public transportation into downtown. Would definitely stay there again.
Very nice place to stay in San Francisco. With a private bathroom and the possibility to come and leave through a seperated door, really enjoyed staying there and talking with Sylvie. She's a very nice host and can always give you tips for San Francisco experience.
My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights at Sylvie's apartment. We were out from morning until night everyday exploring San Francisco and Sylvie's apartment was just what we needed to come home to - a clean, quiet bedroom with a comfortable bed and our own bathroom down the hall. She has one friendly dog and let us store some food in the refrigerator. The bedroom had its own back entrance and we were able to walk to nearby shops and restaurants (to Fillmore Street and to Clement street) or take the bus to farther areas. It was the perfect place for our short visit to San Francisco.
