This bed and breakfast is situated overlooking Copacabana in the safe and friendly community of Babilonia, on the fringes of Atlantic rain forest at the Leme end of Copacabana. Sometimes we see small monkeys in the trees!

This bed and breakfast boasts the BEST VIEW in Copacabana. Look at the pictures, you can see! The sunrise, and the sunset from the terrace are simply spectacular.
Situated on the hill behind Leme, Copacabana this family home has 2 Bed and Breakfast bedrooms which share a shower room and WC to rent.
Babilonia is a neighbourhood of Copacabana which sits neatly on the hill behind the Leme end of the beach. You can access by taxi, or you can walk there. The area is safe, friendly and open for tourists to explore. Some of the coolest grafitti in Rio can be seen on the walls here.
The small Copacabana community of Babilonia has approx 5000 residents and was "pacified" in 2009. It is now an up an coming neighbourhood in itself. It is a 10 minute walk to the beach from the house. In the neighbourhood there are schools, banks (Bradesco & Itau), shops, bars, hostels, small hotels, and a great community spirit.
This accommodate is perfect for travelers who wish to experience Rio with a real Brazilian family.
During Carnaval and New Year - we are ideally looking to accept bookings for 7 days or more - minimum period.
A double bedroom with a shared bathroom (the bathroom is shared between 2 guest rooms, and is cleaned daily). Guests are also welcome to make use of the 2 rooftop terraces which are common areas for the 6 guest rooms
Interaction with Guests
Thiago is English speaking, and happy to help visitors orientate themselves in Rio. The family are welcoming and look forward to interact with guests as little or as much as they wish.
Babilonia is a small favela on the hill at the Leme end of Copacabana beach. The area has a safe and friendly atmosphere, with children playing in the streets, visitors are welcome to explore here. We know most of our neighbours and my family has been living here for generations. Please come visit and enjoy the community spirit and the amazing views to Copacabana and even to Cristo.
Moto-taxi (which costs R$3.00), taxis, bus and the closest metro station is Cardeal Arcoverde.
To travel from the airport to Copacabana I suggest you take the yellow cabs outside the airport - this should cost approx R$70 and the 20km journey usually takes 25mins depending on the traffic.
There are also regular buses, and express buses to Zona Sul from outside the airport.

Stay in a small Brazilian favela with a friendly local family.
A fresh tasty breakfast on the terrace is included.
Please be respectful of our home, you are very welcome here to enjoy with our family.
Please do not leave lights or appliances switched on when you are not home.
Please dispose of all rubbish responsibly.
Please wash away sand and sunscreen when you arrive back from the beach :o)
If you wish to smoke, please do so outside on the terrace and not in the bedrooms.

This is the kitchenette / TV room (cable TV) for the use of the guests, the door leads to the terrace. There is a second terrace above....

I am Carioca (someone from Rio) and have lived in this beautiful city all my life. I love to surf, skateboard, have barbecues, play football, socialise with friends, and enjoy the Rio way of life. We look forward to welcoming you to our house here in Copacabana.
