accueil chaleureux , les personnes etaient disponibles. la chambre etait bien et confortable et situe comme dit sur l'annonce au centre a cote de la cathedrale ce qui aide a se reperer . merci .
This place is definitely not as advertised. I would beware if you are thinking about staying here. While the receptionist is very nice, the hotel room is far from that. First of all, the bathroom is very small there isnt really even space to take a shower. It wasn't very clean when I arrived, the air con/heat doesnt work, the walls are so thin you can hear all the sounds from people outside and the church bells every 30 min. The sheets had stains, I received 2 hand towels not body towels and the lights/ electricity just shut off one night. The place itself looks pretty beat up with missing lights and broken closet. Oh and there is also only hot water for 2 minutes so hope you are prepared to take a cold shower in the winter. At night the receptionist locks the gate where you will be staying so you will have to wake him up yo let you into the hotel.. Not really ideal. This is worse than staying in a hostel. You can find much cheaper places that are pretty decent so I would skip this place if I were you.
The staff was very accomodating, we arrived early morning but one of the staff stayed to wait for us, considering Hanoi has a curfew, this was a very good plus, they arranged for our hotel/airport service. The location was perfect, just right beside St Joseph's Cathedral and very accessible. Our room was very big, exceeded our expectations. They also helped us booked our halong bay tour and gave us a few helpful tips. I would definitely come back to this hostel.
Anh Son was very nice and hospitable. The hotel is well located. The room was clean. We don't like the bathroom on the floor, but you get what you pay. We would recommend.
This place is a very low budget accommodation. The location is good, but the little street in which the hotel is, is very dirty and smelly.
Spite of this, anh son is very helpful, she prepared for us and the rest of the guests a "dinner" for Chinese New Year and was really nice.
What I strongly recommend from anh is that you should buy her the halong bay tour, she's trustworthy!!
Overall it was a good experience.
I stayed two nights in the hotel. The room was ok (had TV, clean sheets), but don't expect something fancy. There is no real shower it is the entire bathroom that serves as a shower, so it can get pretty humid. Also it is a bit noisy at night. I wasn't here to spend time in the room so I didn't mind all that as long as I had a bed and a nice location ! The location is indeed perfect, I could go run in the morning around the lake, enjoy the markets, the old quarter and cool bars in the neighborhood.
Maybe the only experience I didn't really like is that one of the man who's taking care of the hotel suggested to drive me to a museum on his motorbike and asked me way more than what it should have costed for the drive. It's a bit disappointing : as a manager I thought he would have provided good advise and would have made sure I was paying a fair price.
But besides that, I had a nice stay.
Anh Son let us check in early, which was great considering we'd been on a bus all night. We didn't have much contact with him after that, but we didn't need anything either. He gave us a choice between two rooms. We chose the lovely room on the fifth floor (the only room on that floor). It was very comfortable and homey, especially considering the price. It had a wardrobe, a little desk, and lovely balcony. The bathroom is separate from the room, but we had it all to ourselves. The hot water on that floor doesn't work well, but we were offered the bathroom on the next floor down if we wanted to shower. The hostel is tucked into a little street near St Joseph's Cathedral, and you can hear its bells from the room. We loved it. Great location in the old quarter, making for easy walking to restaurants, etc. (There's a killer restaurant on the corner at the intersection where the church sits--it's called Com Vietnam. Super reasonably priced and awesome food!) It was a great place to kick back and relax for a few days.

Both of them are located in the central of Hanoi old street quarter, It is just a stone’s throw from St. Joseph's Church (Cathedral) on quiet Tho Xuong street.
