Bryant Park Elvtr Doorman Luxury!

Apartment - Entire home/apt · W 40th St, New York, NY 10018, United States

The Space

I live in a doorman elevator co-op with a view of Bryant Park! Actually, it's not a direct view of the park, unfortunately, it's a view of an alley.... but through that alley is Bryant Park! (You can see about half of the park)

The building is on 40th Street between 5th Ave and 6th Ave, right between the Public Library and Bryant Park. Half a block East lies the infamous Fifth Avenue shopping district, and Times Square is one block West. You are also close to every subway line in all of Manhattan (the farthest subway away is at Grand Central Terminal, only 2 blocks North and 2 blocks East).

You'll have the place all to yourself for the entire stay, meaning I move out shortly after handing you the keys and introducing you to the doormen. On the last day, I'll need to return in order to help see you off in the morning, although we can often work out an agreement if you plan to leave your things in the apartment on the last day (most people leave their luggage and then pick it up just before their flights; the airport shuttles stop right at Bryant Park).

Sorry, I can't promise breakfast, but if you really want, I can play you a few songs from Avenue Q on the piano (if you have never seen the Broadway show Avenue Q, I highly recommend it).

I also have a Poland Spring hot/cold water cooler, so you can help yourself to plenty of water or tea all trip long. I have WiFi at home and NetFlix on demand piped through my XBox should you need a break from the nightlife. You will sleep in the bedroom on a full-size bed, and a 2nd person can sleep on the living room couch.

Update: I replaced the showerhead as of early May, and I hire a professional maid in between guests. I do NOT live with you while you are here, I just hand you the keys on the first day and help you settle into the apartment. After that I'm gone until the day you leave.

  • Lee's apartment is very good located in centre, just 5 minutes walk from Time square. Lee is very friendly and helpful hostess. Excellent place to stay in NY. Thank you, Lee!

  • I agree with the previous reviews: Lee was kind, welcoming and very, very helpful - he seemed happy to answer any of my questions - including information on helping me to get from the airport and back.
He allowed full access to the internet during my stay, which was great.
The location was brilliant - the airport bus stopped directly opposite the apartment, which, also happened to be beside the small but very pretty Bryant Park.
The only problem I had with the area was trying to find food to cook myself - a bit of an unknown in NY, it seems, but plenty of Deli's around if that it your take.
I would certainly stay again. Thanks Lee - I had a great stay!!

  • Lee's place is in a great location and he was helpful with lots of stuff such as how to get around, where to eat etc. The internet access was realible and super-fast, he also had a water dispenser with spring water which was cool. There is a lot of stuff in his place which makes it kinda cramped, but still manageable. The shower head was also broken and he didnt have time to clean up much, Im sure he will get on-top of these things in the future.

About
My career has taken several wacky and interesting turns. After exploring software engineering, finance, and real estate in separate capacities, I've finally merged all of those together into one entrepreneurial venture! I am self-employed by my own tiny company of two people, and I frequently travel between our SF and NYC "offices." Chances are you won't see me at all when you stay, but you'll have a nice private crash pad in a very central location!
