I would like to offer you unusual place to stay in a private tearoom at the DanceLAB Studio, including the dance room as long as there are no classes. July and August are usually free of classes. Otherwise, there are people comming in and out, but you can still stay there if you dont mind that. the evenings are quiet anyway. It is a great space with toilet, bathroom with shower (with enough towels), windows to the sky and to the courtyard. there is a kitchen corner, where you can cook anything simple if you want. Blankets and sheet included. What makes it special is, that you are in a dance studio where you can move, dance, stretch and relax. All kind of artists will appreciate this space. It is not a real apartment but there are two futon sofas to sleep on, one is a double, one single. It is a cozy and a comfortable place, not only for artists. The neighbourhood is also very special - beautiful, quiet and safe. It is one of the best part of Prague, where you have a walking distance to the beautiful cultural and historical sites in the center. There is healthy food, indian, chinese, vietnamese and many czech cool restaurants, a yoga studio, a poetry coffee shop nearby, you can do your grocery shopping or escape in the green park. Very quiet street. You are 7 minutes walk from two metro stops and many trams, 10 min walk into the very center of Prague. Simply a neighborhood with a very good flair.
I will be happy to advice you on things you could do in Prag and make your stay comfortable.
Fantastic place to stay. Definitely recommend to all!
I only stayed at the DanceLAB for one night...but I would stay there again! A very nice space and centrally located.
I didn't have an opportunity to speak much with Rena, but when I did, she was warm and hospitable.
Rena and her husband welcomed me, and offered touring guidance to get me started. The studio / Dance Lab: I slept better than I have all summer. There is peace there, and traveling as a single (middle aged) woman, I felt secure. I travel with a pen light and was happy to have it to lock the outer door efficiently. In my 11 days there, I believe there were 3 dance classes, and my belongings were intact, untampered with. A thought: I like to fall asleep while reading a book; happily I had a booklight with me as well.
Rena invited me to use her dance studio and, to be honest, after numerous 14-hour days of fantastic touring and exploring the city by bike and on foot, I returned to a moonlit studio and stretched, danced, or went "sock-sliding." I had a blast and slept unbelievably well.
My time in Rena's place was great. It is definitely a very unique apartment (in the best sense of the word). I really loved the atmosphere and the fact that I had a whole dance studio to myself. Note, that it is not intended as a flat, so some usual appliances, like a fridge, are missing. Other than that, I only have good things to say about the place. Everything was clean and the location is fantastic. It took me about 15 minutes to walk to Old Town. It is situated in a quiet and safe neighbourhood with many shops close by.
I only met Rena at the beginning of my stay, because she went on a holiday herself. But she is very nice and helpful and speaks perfect English.
I can highly recommend this place. If I come back to Prague, I will stay here again.
Our stay at Rena's dance lab was great! We had a brief visit with Rena and her husband Hearn. They were very welcoming and helpful with getting around Prague and made sure we had everything we needed. What the apartment lacked as far as amenities was more than made up for by the peace and quite of being off the street. We also enjoyed the location, although it wasn't exactly central, with parks and charming neighborhoods. Very fun!
We enjoyed our Stay at Rena's Dance Lab Studio. Rena herself wasn't there so the keys were handed us by her partner, Hearn. Prag was hot and full of people, the smooth atmosphere at the Studio was a nice contrast.
Rena is such a graceful and lovely host, her smile and generosity made the the arrival of my rainy flooding days in prague bright and hopeful. The place is absolutely beautiful as described, the bed is very comfortable and indeed lovely to wake up to natural light under the sky light in the morning. THe dance studio is WOW! I had some fun dancing around after a long day of walking around in Prague. Also lovely and lucky to see some of the dance class in actions. :D The neighborhood is close to everything and quiet, lovely, with arts and culture. There is also a lovely cafe/bookshop run by a local publishers for Cezch poets and writers, lovely staff and fill with creative ppl all day. Will definitely try to stay with Rena again when i come back! Hopefully the flood has not done too much damage to the lovely city of prague!
I could not have wished for a better or nicer host than Rena. She is very down to earth, friendly and helpful with whatever might be needed.
The studio is clean, small and basic, and very well situated to the tram, train and museum. I walked everywhere as the area is well suited for walking.
There is a skylight, and it got light very early in the mornings, so to have an eye mask is a good idea if you don't want to wake up too early in the mornings.
I thoroughly recommend the Dance Lab.
I truly enjoyed my stay at Rena's DanceLAB Studio last weekend, despite all the rain during my trip. I had a tough time finding it due to forgetting my map at home; however, Rena assisted me along the way via text, despite having visitors at that time.
I was greeted by Rena's husband, Hearn, who showed me around, provided me the keys, and made me feel welcome. Rena's studio was clean, spacious, quiet, private, and had a very nice energy to it.
Once you find where it's located, you will be grateful for how convenient it is from the nice local neighborhood shops and restaurants as well as the major tourist attractions a few minutes away by tram/metro. My personal way to get there (after getting my bearings) was via Muzeum metro stop, transfer to tram 11 there to Bruselska', where it was then a couple minutes' walk to the DanceLAB Studio further on.
I would definitely love to stay here again in my future trips to Prague if Rena's place is available. Rena and Hearn were gracious hosts and their place is a gem in Prague.
Thank you for everything, Rena & Hearn! :0)
Rena's place is just as described. Very charming and quaint. Plenty of space for one person.
The sky light was a nice touch too.
The unit is separate from the main housing building, so you get complete privacy.
Only warning - the water in the shower was a bit cold. Would still highly recommend.
