The space
Immerse yourself in authentic Italy

Perched 2km above Bellagio, Casa Bellagina was my much-loved home for 7 happy years when I moved to Italy from the UK. It is a real home, not a spartan rental. If you are looking for an authentic location, look no further.
Essential amenities are a few steps away.

Year-round comfort

Whatever the season, you'll be comfortable at Casa Bellagina. In autumn and winter, you can get cosy with the log fire, central heating and soft blankets. In summer, there are cooling ceiling fans (by 2022) in both bedrooms and portable fans for other rooms.

You'll find Casa Bellagina welcoming and furnished with all you need to feel at home. The bijou balcony overlooks both the Grigne mountains and the local piazza. This makes it the ideal spot to observe the daily comings and goings of your neighbours. Watching the rhythm of Italian life from here will be one highlight of your stay!

Do you want to cook at home? The kitchen has all you need. Maybe you prefer to bring a pizza home and settle in front of the TV? There’s a great pizzeria too. The choice is yours. There are 3 restaurants, a tavern, grocery, snack bar and a wonderful 'coffee and cake' shop within easy walking distance.

Need to relax after a day of exploration.? Pour a glass of wine and take a seat on the balcony to watch the sunset. Curl up with a good book from my library or watch an old-fashioned DVD!

A car helps you reach characteristic restaurants in the mountains behind Bellagio. Enjoy walking trails in the hills and forests away from the lake. There are plenty to choose from. You can even rent an E-bike or moped and explore the area on two wheels. Love watersports? You can rent a canoe, kayak and enjoy guided trips.

Love gardens? Some of Italy's most famous ornate gardens and villas are here. Villa Balbianello featured in recent movies (Star Wars and Casino Royale). You’ll find a wide range of inspirational guidebooks and local information to complement my digital guide.

Are you travelling as a couple? A small family? A group of friends? You'll find my home bright, cosy, well-loved and well-equipped. In short, it's a very cosy oasis after sightseeing or long travels.

Where you’ll be

WARNING! Bellagio Will Seduce You! ♡

It’s impossible not to fall in love with Bellagio, known as the ‘pearl of Lake Como’. Its unique appeal comes from its special location, lush gardens, sublime vistas, olde-worlde charm and ambience. Photographer’s paradise. Globetrotter's gem. Writer’s retreat. Hiker’s heaven. It has something for everyone and is full of surprises. My free digital insider's guide will reveal all there is to do.

A Hamlet to Call Home. ♡

Bellagio comprises many small hamlets. My home is in the residents’ favourite - Visgnola. It's a quaint neighbourhood with great amenities. You’ll love the feeling of living like a local in an authentic village.

Your holiday home is 2km above Bellagio’s centre and the lake. It's easy to find and easy to enter. You'll receive a video to show you where to find the lockbox. Self-check-in means you won't waste any time and don't need to communicate your exact arrival time.

Casa Bellagina is refreshingly removed from the busiest part of Bellagio (a 5-minute drive/ 25-minute walk). I recommend arriving by car if possible. There's a big, free car park 30 metres from my home.

No car? Take the picturesque trail to the lake and town centre. (The walk home is uphill, so you'll earn that glass of wine or chilled beer!) It's fun to explore the meandering, cobbled alleys linking the many hamlets. This is the key to experiencing the calm, charm and character of authentic Bellagio.

Although I offer one-night stays, I heartily encourage you to stay longer. You won't regret it! (Note: There is a premium cost for a one-night stay. Cost per night goes down after this.)

Getting Around ♡

Slow boats, fast hydrofoils and car ferries criss-cross the lake. The nearest rail service is at Varenna Esino, from where you take a ferry to Bellagio. There is a local bus service between Bellagio and Visgnola. With notice, I can arrange taxis for you.

QUESTIONS? I am happy to answer them. Send a message and say hello. ♡

Hello Travellers!

So what's a British lass, born in Liverpool and brought up in North Wales, doing living in Italy? Most people assume I fell in love with an Italian and followed my heart. Wrong! In reality, when a long relationship with my English partner ended, I decided on a major life change. Italy would be my new home! How happy I am that I made that choice! I had studied Italian at university in Bath so this made the move less scary.

Bellagio, Lake Como, was my first home - in my Airbnb, Casa Bellagina. Today I live in the olive groves near Rome in my Airbnb, Casa Fagiolina. I am privileged to have homes in such beautiful parts of Italy and am thrilled to share them with my guests.

I work in the travel industry, accompanying groups around this amazing country. It is a dream job. My favourite Italian cities are Venice and Rome. My favourite cuisine is Sicilian, my favourite wine, Amarone. Italy is so diverse. There is always something new to discover and my own travel wish list gets longer not shorter!

My latest passion is cycling. What a beautiful way to see the countryside and exercise at the same time! I also enjoy walking, skiing, swimming and yoga. I love to keep busy, positive and learning.

Since I joined Airbnb in 2010 I have had the honour of hosting people from all over the world. Long may that continue!
