Welcome! Thank you for checking us out. We've had great Spring guests from all over the world from Russia, Poland, Mexico, Baltimore, LA, and St. George.
10 minute walk to Highland Hospital. Perfect for those doing short stints at the hospital. Access to 2 bathrooms and kitchen, laundry, deck. Huge house with several units. Guests will be staying in our in-law unit which has 2 bedrooms. One is available to Airbnb guests, and the other is occupied by a recent college grad. Separate entrance available to the in-law unit (more stairs through this entrance).
Local corner store 3 blocks away, great Thai place 12 minute walk (Champa Gardens) and Filipino place 5 blocks away. House is very quiet at times and lively at other times with local youth hanging out twice a week, and band practice (rock/hip hop) twice a week. (they are done by 10p if not earlier)
Nice, single bed with comfortable pillow top mattress.
Free shuttle from hospital to BART which takes you to SF and rest of Bay Area.
-10 minute walk to hospital, 7 minute shuttle ride/Shuttle runs every 15 minutes, 15 minute BART ride to SF downtown = 30-45 minutes to Downtown SF!

Working class neighborhood that used to be called Brooklyn, mainly made up of old victorians and old colonial style homes. Immigrants from all over the world live and own homes in the area. Not a busy neighborhood, just two busy streets and a few corner markets. Other than that, mainly full of homes and a few apartment buildings. 25 minute walk to the lake.

I had a really good experience here. Andrew, wife Alexandra, and their four kids are down to earth, unpretentious, relaxed, friendly, and great to interact with. The room is just like the photo; on the 2nd floor, up the back deck stairs. It's off of a nice den-like room with an exit, so you can come and go without disturbing anyone. Bathroom right across the hall. It seems like the social center of the block (nice houses, people wave to each other), friends and neighbors drop by. The guys downstairs have a band, but you'd never know it unless you're there for sessions twice a week that end at 10pm. I'd stay there again if given the chance.
Street parking is difficult on the block. BART station is an easy bike ride but a little too far to walk if you're on a schedule.
Andrew and his family were excellent to stay with. Communication with Andrew was great as far as check-in and check-out. They were very hospitable during my stay. I would definitely stay with them again if I was going back to the area.
The Park family are wonderful host. The house is beautifully set up and you feel at home. The private room is perfect- so nice and cozy. While in Oakland, I would love to stay again. Two thumbs up!!!
Andrew was out of town but he kept in touch. Beautiful huge house. Lots of open space. Great accommodations. Awesome roommates. Very down to earth sweet people. I hope to extend my stay. Wonderful and peaceful. Beautifully decorated. Feels like home!
Staying at the Park's was great! I would highly recommend them as hosts! The house was clean, and they were incredibly hospitable and kind.
Andrew & Alex are extremely welcoming hosts who are very invested in the local community. They are always down for a small chat. The place itself is very much as described.
The bedroom is behind the kitchen at the middle floor (there are three) and it has a near-private bathroom right in front, which is shared with one person. A music band rehearses two evenings a week. The studio being right beneath, it can get a bit noisy. But. The guys play awesomely well :-)
The neighbourhood is residential. So, it is a bit of a trek to move in and out, especially for grocery shopping. For commuting there are bus lines 11 and 62 that bring you to the BART. 62 runs every 20min during the week and 30min during week-ends. For up to date information, check (website hidden).
To conclude, I really enjoyed my stay by Andrew & Alex's AirBnB. It really felt home. I would recommend it to anyone who is on budget and fine with the band rehearsing as well as the location in a residential neighbourhood.
It was a pleasure staying Andrew and his family as I looked for apartments in Oakland. Both Andrew and his wife were extremely helpful in explaining different neighborhoods throughout the city. There are buses a few blocks away from the house which make it super convenient to get downtown.
